Great view of the bay, and the food was excellent. I had the lamb burger and asked for it to be over a salad instead of a bun and they were very accommodating. Really good food and great drinks.

We just happened to stop by here for Lunch while visiting St. John. It was fantastic. I got the fish tacos which were so good. My boyfriend has the truffle Mac n cheese burger and it was absolutely to-die for! Even the French fries were better than I’ve had before. Highly highly recommend this place. Lunch prices were very reasonable.

Desserts, I can take them or leave them. Generally that is, but last night the dessert just sounded too good to ignore. They were having a special that was generally not written on the menu. It may not sounds great but this is what it was. The desert was lemongrass ice cream made into a sandwich with homemade ginger cookies. Now I’m not a lover of ginger cookies more so I have never thought that I was in love with lemon ice cream. None the less We all agreed it was incredible we all loved it. So if you go there ask for this and if they don’t have it tell them to make it again soon. Ask them when they will have it(supposedly they make it a lot but not every day) so you can come back. You will love it.

Ok, let me start by saying, the food here is impeccable. Like consistently absolutely delicious. I docked two stars, however, because the bartenders and the hostesses are consistently absolute assholes. And that’s not kosher ever in this industry, especially when you’re paying upwards of $ 35/entrée. Customers should feel welcome and comfortable in your restaurant. Staff should not be rude to customers or each other on the floor. Go upstairs to Vista Mare or across the street to the Terrace if you want to be treated right AND have delicious food.

We’re only in St Johns for 3 days, how lucky our 1st night is Waterside Bistro. We had a lot, Octapus appetizer on a crispy toast delicious, shrimp crevice excellent, ratatoullie with cheese, onion with a light oil was very tasty. For entrees my pork tenderloin was done just right over mashed potato with an a jus sauce. The tuna was sushi grade with rice and a Wasabi sauce was clean and very delicate. The lamb shank in a reduction sauce was over cauliflower sautéed with bread crumbs and brocollini with garlic and sauce. Service was on spot, Location right on water with nice carribean breeze overlooking the harbor, not too shabby

We didn’t eat because we already had plans but I do wish we would have stayed. The menu looked fantastic. We did have a few drinks and watch the boats come in. Very relaxing spot and the bartender was very nice(I think her name was Tessa? escapes me at the moment). The Bistro 75 was refreshing and the perfect amount of sweet(not too much). The Habarita was not super spicy but had a nice little kick. Next time we are in STJ we will definitely be dining here for dinner!

Great restaurant — made reservations for sunset dinner… discovered ginger beer! SIMPLYDELISH We started with happy hour at the bar — the staff was amazing! Vietnamese rice crêpe and mushroom truffle soup for appetizer — followed by filet mignon and Mahi Mahi for dinner. The Mahi Mahi was the catch of the day and let me tell you the beurre blanc sauce — I COULDBATHEINIT!!! OH — and do not forget to have the Brussels spouts side… even Brussels sprouts haters will change their mind!!! Great service and even better view — must try!

Gorgeous view and great food. My friend had the grouper and loved it. I got the chicken with stuffing and it was really good. It came with mashed potatoes that were pureed to perfection. Butter that came with the bread was island inspired with a taste of mango(I believe it was mango). That was interesting. This place is also open for lunch. We went for dinner as it was an easy walk from our hotel.\

I posted my other St. John dining reviews quickly. This one I wanted to linger over. On my last visit to the island,(8 days) I ate here 4 times. A few months before, on a 5 day trip we ate here 4 times as well. In the evenings, the chef is imaginative and creative with his island fresh ingredients. Dishes are unexpected in combination but always delightful.(Although I am sad beyond words that he has changed his key lime recipe to be more mainstream. The previous lime curd was reason enough to relocate.). Dinner. How can one order anything but fish. Fresh. Wonderful. No need to deviate. Lunch. Get the burger. Get the burger. Get the burger. The waterfront’s burger is unparalleled. Seriously. I have had burgers in different countries, but, of course, the US is the home of the burger. I have had them in CA, FL, TX, AL etc. THISBURGERMAYBETHEBESTINTHEWORLD. Cooked perfectly EVERYTIME. The thickest bacon I have ever seen. Not to be missed. The location is unbeatable — a stones throw from waters edge. Beautiful views. The service. Wow. For lunch on this trip we had Sabrina, lovely girl from upstate NY. How do I know that? The servers take time to talk. Charming. At dinner we normally have Creigh.(He spent the off season visiting family.) We asked for him this time. My teen daughter was with us and commented on how knowledgeable and authoritative he was in presenting the menu. I think the servers taste the nightly specials so they can really explain the dish. This time we were told where the dessert mangoes were picked and how many were available for the evening. Do not miss the Waterfront Bistro. It would be a dining tragedy. If it is not obvious, this is my all around favorite restaurant on St. John.

You really can’t go wrong with anything you order because everything on their menu is fresh and delicious… Forego the fancy pants hotel restaurants that serve mediocre food with big price tags. Do yourself a favor and visit this little beach side village to eat and drink w the vacation and business locals of St John. Always a fun time!

Came here my first time to St. John many years ago, always remembered it as pretty good but in subsequent trips never made it back. Fast forward to our last trip in August and this place is back up on my list of ‘places to eat’ in Cruz Bay. First recommended friends to go here and they raved about it, then made our return trip a few nights later and were pleasantly surprised. Great cocktails and the entrees were superb, along with a very attentive staff and the view is second to none. Eat here, then pop over to Beach Bar to round the evening.

Everything was great! The music(50&60’s), the drinks(Karina the bartender), the food(juicy Lucy and black & blue) all contributed to a wonderful experience!

Fantastic hamburger!!! Juicy, fresh, and cooked perfectly. All this on top of a perfectly toasted bun. The slab bacon alone is worth the visit. Smokey but not too salty. Hand cut fries are a bonus. If you want a good burger in St John, look no further than Cruz Bay. We’ve had several throughout the island but this one takes the cake ;)

Wonderful view of the sunset. Restaurant is on the beach with a good breeze. Dinner was delicious. We started with the cheese/meat appetizer which was lovely. My husband had the Mahi Mahi while I had the Vietnamese noodle salad with added chicken. Good wine selection and excellent service. This was the perfect dinner choice. We wanted to try a local restaurant outside of Caneel Bay where we are staying. We will definitely return on our next trip to St John.

Fair fare, but that view! They’ll have to kick me out of my shoreside table… Burgers, seafood and the uje make up the menu of this super clean, beach chic eatery. Crispy, salty fries gave texture and seasoning to my tuna burger, dressed with fresh veg and a healthy slather of not-so-spicy wasabi aioli. The sandwich had a pure, if slightly under-impressive flavor, yielding almost completely to its accoutrement. Still, I’ll take a neutral patty over a fishy backbite. We snagged a table just before the lunch rush, delivering two major benefits: 1) attractive, beach view, and 2) incredibly attentive service. Drinks hit the half way mark before a refill appeared, and a definite difference in table management made itself present once the spot began to fill.(With no additional servers, we went from a 1:1 staff/table ratio to 1:5 within the hour). Prices are much more reasonable than its neighbors, perhaps because SJWB is off the beaten path. Worth seeking out, though; if it’s a tourist trap, it sure as hell doesn’t act like one.

Food is always great and the atmosphere is one of the best. If you can score a table on the railing that is the best. They have great daily specials and if you just want to sit at the bar and watch the sun set it is a great«mature» spot to do so.

Wonderful drinks and very pleasant bartenders! Enjoyed the Swan(sub vodka for the gin) and my husband enjoyed his dirty martinis. The appetizer was ok. We got the meat and cheese appetizer which was so so. If you are looking for great views and great drinks this is the place! Perhaps we’ll try dinner another day.

Best restaurant of the trip. Amazing views, fantastic bar, great food and stupid nice atmosphere. St. John and high-end restaurants don’t seem like they go hand-in-hand when you are in town, but this place seriously made me feel like I was taking in one of the best experiences on the island. Highly recommended for dinner.
