Clear beautiful waters, smooth soft white sand, beautiful shells. The water was the perfect temperature too! The beach was way too crowded unfortunately and the cab drivers were rude. My boyfriend and I went snorkeling with my own gear and had a blast!

My husband and I tried to go to this beach after going to Coral World. We could see if from Coral World and it looked beautiful. When we walked over there though a bunch of people were standing there smoking by the entrance and it was severely over crowded. The beach is small and it was packed tight. We also had people constantly coming up to us trying to get us to rent beach equipment. There was no room to walk and the people were pushy. So we left. I recommend Magens bay or go to St. Johns for a better beach experience. But try to go on days when there are fewer cruise ships in also. When we tried to go it was tuesday around 1pm.

Check local dockings first We went to Coki because we wanted to snorkel and have a nice lunch. We found a crowded beach scene which seemed to have the bulk of the four cruise ships in port plopped down on one location. Wall to wall people having fun, snorkelers, scuba divers, jet skis, a band which tuned up for an hour and played for a quarter of an hour and competing«parking helpers» turned us off pretty quickly. We waited an hour for our food though we were not far down the beach but within 15 feet of the hatch where we had ordered. If you like a busy, active scene then you may enjoy Coki in full swing. We wanted something a little(a lot!) quieter and beat a retreat after we finally received and ate our food, piping hot and good conch fritters. I would go back after checking that no cruise ships were docked on the island.

This is such a small and relaxing little beach. I prefered it over the larger and more famous beaches in St. Thomas. While here you can rent anything you need, order incredible and delicious food from several restaurants on the beach… including smoothies which are to die for! Also, there is great snorkeling right THERE! A little coral shelf is loaded with tons of beautiful fishes and the water is crystalline. Forget Magen’s Bay… and go straight to Coki Point!

I’ll have to say that the beach is pretty cool — though the mess you have to get through to get to the beach is awfully nasty. Then you have to just about fight through the vultures trying to sell you something. Once you make your way through, check for your wallet and other things of value, and find someone who’ll rent you a snorkel and mask for a couple bucks, and make sure they give you some dog biscuits(yes, I really did say dog biscuits). The reason is that you can then just wade into the water and feed fish from your hand. As unbelievable as it is, the sound that it makes is even more so. The fish have become so accustomed to people because they’ve been there for so long(as mentioned, the Ocean Park is next door), they will come right up to you and eat from your hand. It’s actually a bit intimidating. In fact, I put one of the biscuits in my pocket and the fish went in and got it out. The chomp-chomp-chomp was a bit disconcerting, so you should be prepared for it. But it’s definitely worth it. Just lock your car and don’t flash money around.

A beautiful, beautiful place! The crystal clear waters allow you to see all the little fishies that are swimming alongside you. Bonus: there is also a bar on the beach and other amenities. Sometimes it gets a bit overrun with tourists, especially because the Coral World Ocean Park and Underwater Observatory is here. It’s still well worth dealing with all the people though.
