One of the best things I did while on the island. Our guide, heather, was awesome! Very knowledgable and took time to really make sure we had a great experience! Highly recommend this tour

They tell u on their website that they provide a locker for your items, snacks, dry bag for items that could potentially get wet. Yet their was none of this. At the end of the tour we got 1 each fun size candy bar… we did get a bottle of water. The 3 hour tour to the mangroves is not for intermediate swimmers. It is a very strenuous kayak trip, hike and swim. Swimming with the life vest on is nearly impossible. It hindered me from actually swimming. I didn’t get to really snorkel because I spent the entire time struggling up stream with a extra large life vest. I did have fun with the guide. He was funny and showed us some cool things. No one told us about photos or being able to buy a cd. The guide told us we had to pay for it up front and he would have taken photos of us. If this had been communicated I would have paid the 45 $ for the cd. The hike up the rocks into the blow hole is dangerous. I was surprised the guide walked ahead for most of it. I almost fell several times. :(I have rheumatoid arthritis and this whole ecotour was extremely difficult and painful. I can tough it out with the best of them but this was just too strenuous. I did see some cool things per the guide. Held a sea urchin, played with hermit crabs and ate some termites. Oh, on the snorkel I saw a handful of fish. There isn’t any coral or a lot to see. I recommend taking your own snorkel gear or renting at Coki beach. ITSAMAZING by the reefs(right next to coral world).

My hubby and I did the 3 hour kayak, snorkel and hike of Cas Cay and the mangrove lagoon. It was just us and the guide Jen– awesome! It was a blast and one of the best things we did all week. The pictures she took were great and we bought the CD. This is a must if you come to St Thomas!

Had a great day with are tour guide«J» today. This kayak tour is a great thing todo for half a day. It has beautiful views of the island you wouldn’t see any other way. It is a must do for family’s. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I wanted to snorkel with out a life jacket but you weren’t aloud too and I was expecting to see me ocean life. There still was a lot of aqua life you just couldn’t get close because of the life jacket so you can’t swim down deep. But all and all it’s still a must do.

Ok, so here’s an update to my last blasting horrible review. I will give VI Ecotours credit because a couple of months after I got home, they did attempt to reach out to me and give me a refund. Sorry guys. Get more organized. I would have totally left you an awesome review had someone told me about the issue before I spent a very precious and rare vacation day trying to get to your location. Next time a heads up in advance is better.

Had a blast today on the 3-hour kayak tour to Henley Cay. Some of the best snorkeling in all our trips to St. John(dozens so far!). The kayak portion was across the channel, and took some effort, and the snorkel had a little bit of chop, but otherwise, simply spectacular! Saw lots of fish, the most beautiful(huge!) corals, and a nurse shark! Departed the cay for Caneel Bay and saw sea turtles, sting rays, and lots of conch! Our guide was also familiar with a lot of local plant life and was able to offer us bites from several local, safe plants. Also offered a locker with lock for our gear while we were out. The only downside was that the arrival time was listed as 8:30 for a 9am departure. But they didn’t even call the no-shows until 9:10. Island time, I know, but it was a bit of a bummer to lose so much time.

OMG!!! This adventure ranks as my 3rd most favorite day of my entire life. The guide was super helpful and knowledgeable! The kayak ride out to the hiking/snorkeling area was the perfect length! The hike was amazing and we were able to hold sea urchins and hermit crabs. We did not feel rushed at all and were treated to some chocolate treats at the end! The equipment was well maintained! My children who are 7 and 8 had an amazing time!!! So glad we chose to do this activity!

Kind of hard to give a good rating to a business that doesn’t include in the price the cost of one of the main things it sells — the guides for the guided tours. After you sign up, you’re told to bring swimwear, clothing that can get wet, shoes that can get wet … and money for tips. When you get there, and there’s a plaque in the wall telling you that«tips are appreciated». And in case you missed the hint, at the end of the tour they hit you, BAM, with a church-style charity basket with an 8.5×11″ laminated sign reading«tips are appreciated». Are these guys paying their guides a living wage? Would be much better if they added a 10% service charge to the price and paid its people properly!
