I’m not going to lie, I would consider myself a bit of a steak snob. I like good steak good well… And by well I mean rare. We made a reservation via WhatsApp per the suggestion of our AirBnb host. I found out they were closed Monday’s and Tuesday’s, but luckily we were able to get a reservation for Sunday evening. When we first arrived, turns out the front door was locked. But we knocked and a woman let us in. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife, and she pretty much does all the waitressing. Per her suggestion we did the empanada+vino tinto deal. Both were awesome and they literally served the wine in a jug. The servings are huge here so my husband and I split the skirt steak; ordered(of course) rare. This was hands down the BEST steak I’ve ever had in my ENTIRE life. If you’re going to head to one place to get steak, it NEEDS to be this place.

I spent my birthday here and had the most spectacular meal. This was my favorite steak experience that I had during my time in Argentina. La Salamandra is special for a variety of reasons, but it really sets itself apart by having incredible food(the grilled cheese, mushrooms and empanadas are NOT to be missed as starters) and by being owned and run by two people who are incredibly kind and welcoming. The restaurant is VERY small. They have about 10 tables total, so it is imperative that you make a reservation or you will be turned away.

Ambiente calido y relajado como de Pulperia antigua, la atencion a cargo de los duenios un placer. La carta es chica pero vale cada plato, las empanadas de carne un clasico! Se llena con facilidad asi que a hacer a hacer la reserva con antelacion.
