Holiday Inn Express

I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express — Buenos Aires and was very pleased that I did.
This is the Express brand of the Holiday Inn chain, which features less amenities on the property itself but includes a full, buffet style breakfast. If that’s what you require, and many situations call for that, this lodging concept works quite well.
Being that this hotel is on a busy thoroughfare in the center, it is essentially slotted into a downtown city block. The front of the hotel and the lobby are both modern and appealing. The rooms are very standard, but definitely comfortable. The typical HI Express breakfast is served on a mezzanine which is right above the lobby. The service was acceptable.
This hotel always shows its best side in photos, that being the front. That side of the hotel also overlooks Puerto Madero. If you got a good rate, rest assured that you will not be on the front side of the hotel if occupancy is high. You will be on the back side, which looks out onto a small street /​alley that runs diagonally into Avenida Cordoba. If you’re disappointed, you shouldn’t be. You shouldn’t be in your room gazing at Puerto Madero if in Buenos Aires.
This HI Express’s location may be in the Microcentro, but it’s not near the historic core with the government buildings and historic register type places like Bar Tortoni. That’s ok, too. You won’t be around all the hubbub near the Obelisco and all the movie houses and eateries people are frequenting at night. Instead, you’ll be at the northern edge of the Microcentro, closer to Puerto Madero, business buildings, Galerias Pacifico, and the river. You can either take transit or take a nice long walk to the «happening» areas.
One has to watch the prices for this hotel, as they fluctuate with many factors. It can be a tad high or it can be priced right, and I’m referring to the price-​value relationship. For a quieter experience with a more generic personality yet close enough to the center, the Holiday Inn Express at Puerto Madero worked well. This is an attractive urban Holiday Inn Express property.
