Good sized meals, quick service and yes, they do a massive variety of schits :) oh, the vegetarian schnit is pretty good too. Good location, always busy and good atmosphere. Good beer selection too with daily half priced pint 3 – 5 pm

This place just keeps getting better and better — food, service and atmosphere are all great! I will happily keep returning! Thank you Schnithouse!

I have been here three times so far. Twice for dinner and once for breakfast. The first dinner I had was amazing. I ordered the Burbon Cowboy chicken schnit and my god I was amazed. It was brought out in a timely manner. The second time we came, my father bought the Dirty gringo. Unfortunately, the chilli con carne that was heaped on had a very acidic flavour. I assume it was just that batch because other customers were complaining too. We told the staff, and they were friendly, gave us a free meal of our choice, and agreed that it was acidic. The one time we came for breakfast was slightly disappointing. I could make a better breakfast at home. But, it was quite cheap. In spite of all this, the schnit was amazing, and I would go again

Schnits and giggles or any other kind of Schnit imaginable can be found at the Schnithouse along with premium Hefeweizen on tap. Thoroughly enjoyable if you have an appetite for good value beer and schnitzel. My favourite so far is the dirty gringo. The venue has always been busy when I have been on any evening of the week so they must be doing something right.

I’ve been here a few times now and while the first few visits were excellent, my most recent visit did not scale the same quality heights that the others did. That’s not to say it was terrible by any means, just not as enjoyable as before. On my first few lunch visits, both the food and the service were impeccable! The schnitzels were perfectly cooked with a light, tasty crumb, the presentation was excellent and the chips and salad looked and tasted great. The service on those visits also deserves a special mention — friendly, professional, attentive and nothing seemed like too much trouble. I have also had the pleasure of breakfast here too. The bacon and egg burger was one of the best I’ve had and even the hash browns were spot on(I don’t normally eat them but these were too good)! My most recent dinner visit, whilst OK, was not to the same standard as the others — a great shame but hopefully just a bad day(or a different crew at dinner time compared to breakfast and lunch previously). The schnitzel was heavier and oilier than previous ones and that oil dominated the taste. The chips were still spot on and the salad was good but the schnitzel, as the hero of the meal, needed to be better. I’ll certainly be back, with the hope of a return to form and I hope to post better news in the near future.

I recently ate at the Schnitt House with my boyfriend and we loved it. The schnitzels are huge and were cooked perfectly! There is a lot to choose from so they cater for anyone. The waiter that served us and brought our food was very friendly and down for a chat; good guy. 3 — 6 is happy hour when you can purchase a pint of Hofbräu for $ 5!

Great place to bring family and friends; friendly and excellent quality staff that produce seriously tasty and quickly delivered food deserve all the praise in the world. My only gripe with the establishment would be the lack of table service along with some general menu issues, I.e. not listing all the available items under each name. If serving a schnitzel with gravy etc, why not list in the title or boldy illustrate in a more appropriate location in the menu whether hot chips or drink etc are served with the order? Other than that, excellent establishment

if theres 3 things that Schinithouse has going for it, its fast, — I’ve never waited long for a meal to come out, even mid mad march with a full house. Its tasty– its never oily or over salted, the chicken schit is always cooked just right, AND(the big one) they’ve got a fridge full of craft beer & ciders(along with a selection of the usual culprits) that rivals that of some drinking institutions I’ve been in. The only downside to here is the giant menu of reasonably priced toppings for your schit, seriously 27 of them, or the 12 gravy selections. and thats after you’ve chosen from the five meat selection for inside those glorious crunchy crumbs. and the reason they don’t quite get that magical 5th star? Its called parmi, not a parma.

3 ½ stars is more accurate. First things first(im the realest), I do not like schnithouse, I personally don’t like the look, the vibe — but for posterity, I’ve chosen to be completely objective and look at it from their secular target market’s point of view. Schnithouse is a big bright eatery that stands out like a sore thumb next the the beautiful sleek lineup of restaurants on Rundle. Their menu is a zany mashup of westernised German and Italian food. Nothing is done in small doses here. The décor is a strange combination of modern and classic styles as well as the appearance of a German beer garden out the front, that along side the TV in the corner — there’s always something to hold the young ones interest. Beer is available in a range of sizes — including a litre! Schnitzels are available in a range of crazy options that are all more than enough to feed two people each, the pizza’s are also generously portioned. A large array of cakes are available as well as delicious looking gelato. The food is a little(searching for the word) on the«diabetes» side? Not going to lie I did feel bad after eating — but it was tasty. The staff were very friendly and inviting, and asked how our meals were after — it is obvious that good customer service is important to the owners. The only thing I can reallllyyy slam — is the prices, I expect exorbitant prices for really nice food on rundles — but I got little change from a 50 for a large and a small pizza. Unfortunately the people that have that kinda money to spend — are not going to spend it at the schnithouse. Again not my style but they will attract a certain market — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

3 ½ Stars After a play at a nearby park, we went there for an early dinner on a whim with the family as it was in the Entertainment Book and looked like a family friendly casual eatery in the East End and the half-priced pints of beer(3−6pm) sign got hubby’s attention. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The décor was nothing special — usual nondescript(ok, maybe they were trying to give it a Bier Haus feel), casual eatery catering to the masses, just like many of the large eateries down the East End. The menu was quite overwhelming and there surely would be something to suit everyone. Choose from chicken, veal, pork, seafood or vego schnitzel then the sauce, or you can go all fancy and pick a speciality schnitzel. Grilled or crumbed. It got a bit much for me and with two tired young kids vying for my attention, I ordered a straight up chook schnitzel with mushroom sauce. To break up the schnitzel overload, I ordered a kid’s menu cheese and ham pizza as I heard the portions were huge in general. Hubby ordered something fancy with an italian sounding name. My jaw literally dropped when the food arrived. Wow — these were chicken schnitzels on ‘roids! Makes my homemade free-range, oven-baked schnitzel look puny! They were perfectly crumbed and deep fried, which is usually not my thing, but to order a grilled schnitzel sounded a bit lame ;-) The flesh was moist and plump so I guess they’ve perfected the art of deep frying. I think the portions are for two people — even my hubby who has a very *ahem* healthy appetite couldn’t finish his plate(the last time this happened was on date night at Africola, lol!). The side chips were crispy but too greasy and salty. The kids pizza was huge(for a kid’s pizza) and was more than enough. I felt a bit bad about all the left over food, but I think I did order conservatively. So you’ve been warned about portion sizes!!! This place is probably a good place for group catch-ups when famished and you want some deep fried goodness.

Great schnitzel place. My coworkers and i stopped at this place for dinner one of the nights we were in Adelaide. They have solid selection of schnitzel for whatever you fancy at any time. I got the Bull Schniztel and it was pretty solid. My boss has been to Germany and considered this place the best restaurant we went to in Adelaide. I had some other preferences but if you’re in town for a few days, this is a SOLID option. The restaurant has a great laid back vibe with good beer on tap I’m told. The service was quick, efficient.

I was going to give this eatery 1 star but decided on another because their coffee and cakes are delish. I would feel comfortable saying one srar represents my like of the location and restaurant aesthetic and the other, coffee and cake. When visiting this week my sister and I both ordered one of the salads. They were both fine, just fine, nothing more. While we ate I saw other peoples food being delivered and although it looked amazing there was only tiny sides, a handful of salad and a handful of chips. But on the up side, the set up is very cute and outdoor seating and an open plan allows you to enjiy Rundle Street in all its fab-bess. Will I visit again? Yes, but only for coffee. At $ 16 for a salad, I would like it to be a little spesh.

Schnit House? More like Schnitzel Heaven! So many choices of delicious schnitzel available. They also do burgers, pizzas(they have a very impressive looking pizza oven), but schnitzels are clearly the headliner here. You have a choice of Chicken, Bull(veal), Pig, Deep Sea(fish) or Vegetarian(eggplant) schnitzel. One of the best parts, all of their chicken schnitzels use free-range chicken. Brilliant! Went there with friends and we all decided to be adventurous with our choices; Bollywood Schnit(served with curry sauce, a pappadum and mint yoghurt sauce on the side). It looked very simple, but was full of flavour. The curry sauce was sweet, tangy and had a little kick of heat. Very tasty. Would try again. Protein Schnit(served with baby spinach, mushrooms, tomato, avocado, bacon and a creamy pesto sauce). This was mine and I loved it. The pesto was creamy and all the flavours worked well together. Dirty Gringo(served with mexican spiced ground beef, corn chips, tomato, avocado, jalapeños and sour cream). The whole table agreed this one was the best. The mince was nice, but not at all spicy, it tasted like taco mince. The corn chips were salty and crunchy and it all worked. I will definitely be getting this next time! Italian one — can’t remember the name sorry(served with prosciutto, peperonata, tomato and cheese). I didn’t try this one, but he said it was great. I had a Bull Schnitt and it was the most tender schnitzel I’ve ever had. Even my mate that hates beef schnitzels said it was good. Beef schnitzels are normally pretty tough, but this was super tender. My only criticism was the dessert. I ordered the dessert(they only have 2, one comes with custard, the other with ‘chocolate gravy’). They gave me the wrong one, not a huge deal. It tasted awful though. The«sweet waffle fries» tasted like undercooked crumpets. They were thick and doughy. Everyone on the table tried them and they all hated it. The«donut schnit» wasn’t horrible, but it was bad. It was doughy and didn’t really taste like a donut. The fresh fruit(kiwi and strawberry) was nice and the house-made icecream was good, but unfortunately they were small accompaniments. I didn’t finish the dessert and I will never order it again. I decided not to mark them down for the dessert as I feel most people coming to a schnitzel place for dinner probably aren’t interested in dessert. Plus the main stars of the show(the schnitty’s) were delicious. Fill up on schnitty’s and you’ll be fine. If you’re feeling really keen you could even attempt the Man Vs Schnit; 1 kg of chicken schnitzel with gravy and chips and 1ltr of beer. Finish it within 45mins and you’ll get your name up on the wall, plus a hat and a free dessert(but even free, you still don’t want it). It’s a fairly daunting task, only a few have succeeded. See if you can beat the current record of 17 minutes!

Perfectly located for Mad March, Schnithouse is on the main drag just a couple of hundred metres away from the Garden of Unearthly Delights. IF you are over festivial food and looking to sit down and enjoy a solid meal and a pint, then this is the place for you. The service is friendly and your schnitzel will be delivered swiftly. Check out the scribbles on the wall — they are testimonials from some famouse peeps.
