I spent two tumultuous years here. It’s student accommodation like you always imagined it: party-crazed international students, food-stealing flatmates, moth-infested shared living spaces and wild, wonderful friendships. George James is one of Curtin University’s student accommodation blocks. It’s six to a flat, with individual bedrooms, a shared living and kitchen area, and one bathroom between two of the same sex. This is a relatively good living arrangement compared to other student accommodations, but I still found it gruelling at times. The set-up was good enough — and there are lots of communal activities which can be fun. I also believe there’s a community garden now which is awesome. My gripes have to do with being so close to uni, and a part of uni. ALLTHETIME. It was mostly unsettling.
