I’ve only been here a couple of times and unfortunately both times I was disappointed. I have only ordered fish and chips and didn’t think it that great. The fish was dry and it was crumbed — I would have preferred battered. As Luke mentions it’s a bit overpriced. One piece of garfish is $ 5.20 and I can get it a couple of blocks away for $ 4 and it’s a lot nicer there. It’s a pity it’s not more enjoyable as it’s within walking distance from us but I’m not keen to go back.

I just moved in around the corner from Goody’s which should mean they’ll see a lot of me as I try to fulfill my Friday night chicken and chips cravings but so far I’ve only been in the one time. I had high expectations of Goody’s as its a very well presented shop, very neat, modern and with lots, and lots, and lots of pictures of the assorted menu items posted around the shop(anyone else miss the old style menu’s where words were sufficient?). Anyway I ordered my stock standard quarter chicken hot pack, and what I received was indeed a stock standard quarter chicken hot pack. The chips weren’t amazing, but they weren’t bad either. Just standard. The same could be said of the entire meal — it was tasty sure, but compared to some of the other chicken places around the area(I’m looking at you Golden Wishbone) there just wasn’t the same wow factor that you get from really flavoursome chicken and chips, that moment where you go — WOW, why don’t I eat this all the time — whatever I’m rambling. Price wise it’s a little steep but to be honest it’s chicken and chips, even when it’s expensive, in comparison to virtually everything else its still cheap. Goody’s is probably just good enough.
