Being a poor guy on centerline I’m not oft able to just drop in on a place but having seen how empty this place was when they did not have the sheesha tent out front was alarming. I feel ashamed to live in the neighborhood with how much the local community shunned this place. They lasted about 7 Months all up and I would be surprised to learn of they ever made a single day of free and clear profit. It was a great concept with a unique name and the fit out was well executed. I think given a better location this business could well have really thrived however the viscititudes of fate intervened. This shop ceased trading in September and lamentably I never did get around to sampling there Schwartz but I did try there Meat and chips and they would easily give chicken chef both a run for there money and a swift kick in the ass for being complacent. Life is harsh and cruel oft unfairly. This business should have been better served by the community. It wasn’t and that’s sad. Before you comment with how would I know that? Well the answer is chillingly simple. I live in the local neighborhood and whilst a large proponent of the residents are middle eastern, almost double that are of Pakistani and Indian descent and as a result Indian temptation a local store about 600m away physically trades 24⁄7. This really isn’t a review its an obituary and a reflective indictment on the introverted self serving narcisistic twits society has let us become. Im ashamed but at least I’ve got the balls to write this review.

This has to be one of the weirdest chicken shops I have ever been to. I am sometimes a bit of a sucker for a gimmick. Seriously, don’t hate me for it! But when I saw the Tom & Jerry sign above a chicken store, I had to know why??? I should probably just start this review with what you all want to know about. What the heck is this while Tom & Jerry thing all about? To be honest with you, I do not know? But, what I experienced was this: There were Tom & Jerry paintings everywhere and theme music playing in the background on a continuous loop. But, for some weird reason no TV’s set up showing the cartoon. Just the music in the background. And as if that was not weird enough, there was a TV on with Winnie the Poo on it… Which the sound of Winnie the Poo was overlapping the Tom & Jerry music in the background. I just thought the whole thing was hilarious, but others might be a little put off by this I imagine. Oh, I forgot. There was also some skill tester machines at the back of the store with music as well… hahaha Anyway, this takeaway store offers char grilled chicken, lamb, burger and salad and chip combos. They had the whole chickens set up with a rotisserie and the smell of the BBQ was great. We ordered a half chicken with a chilli sauce, chips and a salad. The chicken was actually really tasty and served with a middle eastern style sauce. Marinated in lots of lovely spices and served with some pita styled bread. That way you could cut up some chicken and put it in the bread with the salad. Almost like a yiros. Food was good, but I just do not know what they are doing with the whole theme. Kind of feels like the Royal Show with too much going on! Check it out for some decent food and confusion.

I got halfway though my charcoal chicken before I realised it wasn’t fully cooked and actually bloody around the joints. I obviously couldn’t finish it. I was also put off by the server using his bare hands to pat down my salad into the takeaway container. On a positive note, the marinade was delicious and the service was friendly, so here are two stars but I won’t be returning.
