One word… Burger. Burger. Burger. Burger. Burger! Or Detroit Pickle Burger to be exact. Amazing. Smash one down your gullet, you won’t regret it. Pulling myself kicking and screaming off of the subject of burgers, Luxe; as far as foodhall dining goes(I’m not a snob, honest), it doesn’t get much better. The food is great(I may have mentioned…), the staff are consistently friendly and its licensed so you can have a civilised beer/wine/bubbles with your supper.

Always reliable for great coffee and delicious food — there’s a reason why it’s always jam-packed…

How civilised it is to be able to get a glass of champagne and gourmet cheese plate, in a food court while enjoying one of the greatest views in Sydney. It might just be me but I cant think of anything better after tackling a huge day of shopping at Bondi Junction Westfield’s. Luxe Bar is right there as you jump off the escalator on level 5,(under Event cinemas), the bottles red, white and sparkly beckoning you to come and sit and relax with them. It sits within a rather classy and upmarket food court. I ordered the goats cheese with fresh toasted bread along with a glass of sparkly. Served with a fresh tomato and avocado the cheese and bread plate looked amazing on the wooden board is was served on. My only qualms were that when I went to order my wine, there were all these changes to it, ‘we don’t have this one, we have this red instead of this’ there were too many for me to make notice of them. It turned out they didn’t have the wine that I wanted on the menu and so I had to choose something else. So an updated menu would be great also, a blackboard with the soup of the day and the cheese of the day would probably save them being asked one hundred times in a day.

As a massive fan of Luxe Expresso in Newtown, I was pretty pleased to stumble upon Luxe Bar inside the Westfield centre at Bondi Junction. The set-up here is quite different from their original café — located amongst the food court style collection of eateries on Level 4, it’s a free-standing stall surrounded by communal seating. They serve the same pre-made sandwiches sitting in the glass display case, but I was surprised that the range of sweet pastries was pretty minimal — perhaps this was just as it was already the afternoon. They also sell alcohol, probably as a result of their location right beneath the cinemas one floor up. As expected, my coffee was just as good as what they serve elsewhere, which I had with a custard tart for afternoon tea — the sweet filling was speckled with nutmeg and served in a shallow, crumbly pastry base. Yum!
