This tiny take-away and eat in/out right on the river is popular with close by workers and it’s easy to understand why. It’s quick, it’s well priced, and the food is pretty decent. Not a huge fan of the rainbow box(incl. drink $ 8.50), but the rolls and the curry(yes, the curry — see other review here:) are great. Combined with the location and outdoor seating, Kabuki2go makes for a great lunch spot.

Don’t be fooled by their lunch specials. On the outside, their options look like a decent $ 10 lunch deal. The reality is that the chicken karaage is chewy and stale, their sushi is non descript, and the curry… well…lets just say don’t get the curry.

Sushi is one of the more affordable lunchtime options in the CBD. Kabuki, which specialises in Teppanyaki-style food in the main restaurant, has a small takeaway section, Kabuki2go, which caters for lunch seekers on weekdays. Hidden at the corner of Waterfront Place, it’s a gem once you do find it. On offer is a range of sushi hand rolls and several hot dishes, including Katsu curry and Teriyaki chicken. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is efficient and friendly. Pricing is reasonable, with sushi rolls costing between $ 2 and $ 3 and hot dishes around the $ 7 mark.
