Awesome customer service! No complaints about the physical facilities and the location is perfect. Full kitchen and a washer & dryer in the unit. Great place for an extended stay when you don’t want to unnecessarily burn cash by eating out 3 meals a day(Brisbane is a very expensive place… even more than Hawaii). If you keep in mind that it’s an apartment hotel and not a swanky resort, this place will happily fit the bill. There’s a 7 – 11 on the first floor and free pool/gym. My only complaint is the free in room WIFI is S-L-O-W slow. The fastest D/L was .37 Mbps and fastest U/L was .16 Mbps. Just enough to check email and some very light surfing. The good news is that you can take a 2 min walk to Queen Street mall and get some free WIFI there if you need something faster. I’m coming back!

When I checked into this place I thought the front desk staff were nice. One thing that did bother me about this place is that there was no service lift which meant on occasion you had the share the lift with a big cleaners trolley. I also noticed that the apartment that I had stayed in was not cleaned properly with a food mark on the dining area wall and the shower having a small bit of dirt that could have been scrubbed away. All in all it was a good experience, and I would definite consider staying again given it’s proximity to the attractions.

For the price and location, you can’t do any better than Oaks Aurora. And while I know bigger isn’t always better, let me tell you that I enjoyed every minute of my maaaaahoooosive apartment on the 37th floor. The building still functions as a residential tower — no doubt the original intention — so all of the«rooms» are either 1 or 2-bed apartments with full kitchens. You also get to milk the tenant benefits of a pool, sauna and small gym. What this also means, however, is that it’s more shabby than chic — the carpets could use a good scrubbing, the bathrooms and kitchen are stripped down to their bare minimum, furniture is the epitome of catalogue basic, and any amenities seem like more of an afterthought than a service-orientated gesture. But let me remind you(and myself at this point) that it’s ridiculously affordable. I’m talking 3 nights(Thurs, Fri, Sat) for $ 509. Total. Don’t let the 3-stars fool you, I will certainly be booking here again. And if you too are looking more for practical and affordable than lavish and luxurious, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this spot.
