In the time it took us to get our meal, we had had four new prime ministers. Meals were expensive af. Meals were average af. Now eating Thai food at a third of the price. And it’s tastier. And quicker.

On our way to Coogee Beach, we decided to stop at Bronte Beach for lunch. We stumbled upon this cute café and decided to eat here. We ate outside because the weather was beautiful and wanted to people watch. Service was kind of slow. Took a while for a server to take our order. Ordered the wrong thing. I thought avocado, sour cream, and chili sauce would go well together. It was strange. My friend ordered the right thing and I immediately wished I ordered the bacon roll as well. Place was a bit pricey. Regardless, I would come back and try their other options!

Worst service. Rude waiteress. Was contemplating to leave without paying. The food was average but that not what im complaining about but the rudeness of the staff was unbelievable. Our order got stuffed up no apologies not even a explanation where the missing meal was. When asked the waitress abut the meal she was incredibly rude.

We grabbed a table at Jenny’s because it was the only restaurant that could take us as a party of 5 on New Years Day. We got lucky. The fresh juice combinations tasted terrific including the juice of the day(passionfruit, orange, guava). The beef in the burger was very high quality and the chicken salad had fresh crisp greens. The only negative was that the waitress had a very hard time understanding us(we had to go through the order 5 or 6 times).

Just ordered a mango smoothie and ’twas delicious. Refreshing, filling, and fresh. The honey low fat yogurt gave it a nice consistency and tartness, while the mangos were ripe and sweet. I was hungry upon drinking the smoothie and was quite satisfied afterwards. Great post run shake for those running on the shoreline.

Mid-way through the coastal walk and looking for a pick me up? Jenny will sort you out. Step inside this humble, beachside café, pick from a range of fresh fruits and veggies(or just choose from one of the suggested juice or smoothie combos) and $ 6.50 later you’ll be ready to power on to Coogee. My apple, ginger, celery, pineapple mint juice was absolutely delicious. They also have an array of nibbles and outside tables, so there’s no need to hit the road straight away. And thankfully the food is healthy and fresh so you won’t feel guilty about running across the street to the beach afterwards.

A friend of mine swears by the juices and smoothies at Jenny’s, claiming them to be the best in the Bronte region. They are certainly cheaper than most — my massive glass of their strawberry and watermelon blend was a fruity sugar hit for $ 6.50. Their coffee is nothing to get too excited about, but their simple meals are also affordable and tasty. A post-beach lunch called for something healthy — a rocket salad with sundried tomatoes and asparagus ticked the boxes, and they were happy to add some grilled chicken to make the meal more substantial for a few extra dollars. A return visit for brunch dished out some massive pancakes smothered in mixed berry coulis with a side of maple syrup. Be careful if you’re just getting a takeaway sandwich or drink and have no cash — there is a minimum charge for cards of I think $ 20.
