Whenever I am feeling a bit under the weather my first point of call is to get a big bowl of phở in my face ASAP. I have a theory that it kicks a cold square in the butt. Unfortunately, when I am feeling this rotten I don’t have the energy to get to a super-awesome phở establishment(generally a good 15 minute drive away) and instead have to roll my sick, sad body to Roll’d. It’s not the best but it does the trick. I recommend the beef phở with fresh chilli. They have the other classics available and also a low-carb version(I’ve never dared to try that. Give me all of the carbs please.) There are also some sweet lunch deals on offer like three rice-paper rolls and an ice tea for 10 clams. A good stop if you live or work in the area and are feeling a bit lazy.

I have eaten at Rolld a few times and I am always impressed. The rice paper rolls are always fresh and tasty. I have also tried the bbq chicken roll which was very tasty as well. It gets quite busy during peak times but that is a compliment of the food more than an issue with the store. Cannot wait to try their Phở

When I am craving Vietnamese and am not in stones throw of a restaurant or Vietnamese bakery Roll’d is my go to. It’s quick and easy and delicious. My usual order consists of the soft shell crab soldier or the Roast Pork bahn mi — yum!

I went to the Roll’d in Brunswick, Victoria a couple of months ago and I ordered the Phở. I have to say it is the worst Phở I’ve had in my whole life. I don’t know how you could take something that tastes so great and make it taste like lukewarm dishwater. Not only did the broth taste like week old arsehole. There was no fresh basil that came with it. No fish sauce on the tables. No Marinated oily chili stuff. All they had on the table was chilli sauce and not even good chilli sauce. I ended up asking for hoi sin sauce when I saw other people getting it and they gave me a little 25 ml container of it to pour into my phở. Who would of thought that when you are having Phở that there would be no basil, no oily chili stuff, crap chili sauce and you’d have to ask for the hoi sin sauce. Which idiot thought to open a restaurant purporting to sell Vietnamese street food and didn’t think of these basic things? And the beef they used. You could tell it had been frozen, because half of it was still stuck to the other half after being pushed under the water for a little while. Defo do not eat there.

I am a long time fan of Banh Mi or Pork Rolls or whatever you want to call them, so when I found out that Roll’d had opened a short walk away from the office, it was on. The pork roll with extra pork crackling is a great start. Then come back the next day and grab some soldiers(rice paper rolls) and then come back one last time for some Phở and then you will be hooked. My only complaint is the dipping sauce containers are really small! They don’t need to be full, just big enough to dip the soldiers in.

I’ve only been to Roll’d once, but I’ll be back. Not too expensive, very very tasty. We got the Roast Pork banh mi with crackling — delicious! The place was spotless, the staff were friendly, it’s a nice big location with indoor and outdoor seating.

Had heard about roll’d for a long time. Now that this store has opened up in Brunswick it was hard to resist anymore. We popped in for a quick lunch after a hard session at the gym. We were pretty hungry and roll’d was able to fill the void! They have only been open in Brunswick for a few weeks but already seemed pretty busy. I got the vegetarian or salad bahn me. On first inspection I thought it was going to be a bit bland as it was only salad. However, a few bites in and it was packed full of flavour and freshness. It could definately benefit from a few slices of tofu. but I would definitely have another one quite happily. Would like to go back and try some of their other food as it sounded great. Definatley fresh and tasty!

Roll’d is a great Vietnamese place for lunch or a quick bite to eat. Food is cheap and filling. On offer is Phở soup in 3 variations, and another version of Phở soup that is spicier, with a couple versions of this too. There are also rice paper rolls, asian sandwiches in a crusty bun and salads. $ 10 got me an asian chicken sandwich and a tofu rice paper roll and it was delicious. There was so much fresh coriander in my bun I was amazed. Its funny its called Roll’d as the area where they make the sandwiches looks the same as the one at Grill’d. On that note, the service can be a little slow as the food is made fresh to order and they can get quite busy, but it is not slower than you would get at Grill’d. The rice paper rolls are made fresh also however the dipping sauce container is too small to dip your roll into so you have to pour it over your roll, but that’s not really a problem. The problem is that they don’t give you much sauce, definitely need to fix that.
