Very popular restaurant in Byron Bay so much so we ended up having to settle for takeaways. The burritos we ordered were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend giving this eatery a go.

This is one of the best Mexican places I have tried outside of the States or Mexico. I would come back again next time I’m in Byron Bay. We had the chips with guacamole and they actually fry the chips there… yes, it’s a greasy, but you’re not having Mexican food because you’re on a diet. The guacamole was nicely spicy, not too much and it has a nice limey flavor to it.(I have been to too many restaurants the substitute lemons for limes and it’s not the same). It was so good we ordered it twice. The salt and chili lime squid had thick cut squid and I can see how they can server it in a taco, but we only ordered the appetizer. They were soft and a large portion for two. Next came our taco combo with Mexican pulled pork, tropical pork and crispy snapper. They were all good, but the Mexican pulled pork had the most authentic flavor and appealed to me the most. I would have ordered more since we only shared the combo, but the portions were so large that I was already full. The margaritas were so good I ordered 2 rounds of the smoked pineapple margarita. The smokiness came from the mezcal and even though I am not always a fan, the bartender did a great job mixing it without overpowering the drink. I also saw many mojitos mixed so I assume those were good, too. I only had the intention of trying out this place and having a drink, but that lasted to 2 hours of actually eating dinner… be ware you will over drink and over eat so go with an appetite.

I love Mexican food and miss margaritas did not disappoint. Located right in the rustle and bustle of Byron bay CBD, this place pulls in the crowd with its vibe & tasty food. I had a variety of food options: prawn & chorizo quesadillas, fajitas and a pulled pork burrito. The quesadillas and fajitas pack a good punch of flavour. Could have been spicier but I have a high tolerance for spice. Pulled pork is always my go to option. The burrito was not only tasty but also packed with toppings, making this meal option of better value. Overall a delicious and memorable meal out in Byron bay. Would definitely recommend it.

I had such high hopes for this place. Prior to our trip, I searched for some good eats for our trip. This was one of them. To our demise, this place had a long wait time. That was expected. The place was absolutely packed, spilling with people. This place had to be good, right? We were sat and were ravenously hungry. We immediately knew what we wanted. Our server came quickly but she didn’t even introduce herself. Like, it’s common courtesy to introduce yourself when you first meet someone? I thought that was slightly rude and annoying. Then, I kid you not, we waited 45 minutes for our burritos. Like I know it’s busy but we had no reassurance our food was underway from any of the waitstaff. I started getting agitated and no matter how many times we tried signaling someone they«wouldn’t» see us. Also the place was stupid expensive. $ 20 bucks for a burrito that should’ve absolutely not been priced like that. This place no way competes with Chipotle back home. That’s like 3 burrito bowls. Luckily enough, I bonded with a neighboring table, picking up on their familiar American accents. They made the wait more bearable. My friend and I should’ve shared our food. Overall not impressed with this place. Would try again but would go to another location or go a different day/time.

Where do I begin. After a weekend away sampling Byron Bays finest, I have to say Miss Margarita was my food highlight. After a short wait we were seated and orders taken super fast. Staff were so friendly and happy to be there. I got the taco combo, went for the chicken chipotle, squid and snapper. Melt in the mouth food could not fault it. I would happily drive from Brisbane just to eat these tacos again!

A wonderful authentic Mexican meal. Most of us had the taco combo… the snapper, chilli squid, and Mexican pork were to die for. All for just $ 20. A warning, though, they are very busy but they move people through at an impressive pace. Not to be missed when next in Byron Bay!

Drinking Happy Hour Margarita’s here, I thought I had been transported to sitting in a hip little bar at Venice beach in LA. There is so much of a great vibe here, and it’s backed by amazing food, drinks and service. We started with classic Margarita’s and soft cell taco’s — the squid with lime and the breaded Snapper. Moved on to Mojito’s and SOL Beer. I can already feel my Mojo rising. This was simply a superb experience in an outstanding environment. Make sure you go get your Mojo refreshed when you are passing by Byron Bay!

Let me first say: I’m used to amazing Mexican food. I’m from California. Miss Margarita is a cute little boutique Mexican restaurant in Byron. There’s not much seating so it can get competitive. The actual building is really small so it’s hard to walk between tables, and chairs are constantly being pushed into one another. Don’t expect to have any privacy here. The prices are quite high for a simple taco platter or burrito, but I figured that’s because it’s «boutique». I ordered the chicken burrito and was disappointed. The size was insanely small for the price, 18 dollars for a burrito I can fit in one hand? No thank you. I get burrito for half the price and three/four times the size in California. Also, the flavors weren’t impressive by any stretch of the imagination. The tortilla was crunchy but not hard like a taco shell. When I get a burrito I expect a soft tortilla. The chicken was decent, but I paid for guac and it was put on the side of my burrito, and there was not that much for 3 dollars. I would have preferred it inside my burrito spread evenly, that was a flaw in their presentation. Also, the plate looks bone dry with this small burrito and tiny cup of guacamole. I expected a lot more for the price, but it just confirms my belief that quality Mexican food cannot be found in Australia.

A great place to drop in to enjoy a cocktail — especially on a Saturday! Enjoyed a lovely ginger and mint mule, deliciously devine. Ordered the calamari which was enjoyable with a nicely matched sauce. Next time it’ll be margaritas for sure!

miss margaritas… not one to miss, as this place is the tasty taste! The food is delish and large portions accompanied by exciting cocktails and other beverages. We tried the elderflower margarita which was fresh and flavorful. We shared the fajita(chicken) and the nachos(pork) and this was heaps of food for two but both were so amazing that we ate it all! The service is very helpful and relaxed. The wait times despite the busy space were not long. The décor is bright and has many sugar skulls and vintage pieces. It was a bit warm upstairs away from the window so try to grab a seat by a window or outside.

The taco trios are so delicious, the crispy fish especially. What a great spot, right near the beach but not in the sun. You can just sit here, relaxing with a cold drink, listening to Mexican tunes & watch the passers by… ahhh, holidays.

Amazing cocktails and food. We had the vegetarian quesadillas, the snapper with mango sauce soft shell tacos and the squid soft shell tacos. Everything was amazing however the snapper taco was our favourite bar far. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. We left extremely full and drunk :)

Awesome food, fantastic staff and a wonderful location. I had the pulled pork nachos on my first visit. And then chilli con carne enchiladas on my 2nd visit. They were both absolutely delish! I’ll be back for sure, the next time I am in the beautiful town of Byron Bay.

One of the best sit down Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The Jalepeno poppers were so beautiful I had to strain to not weep tears of joy. I had the mushroom burrito as a main — very impressed. 10⁄10 for flavour and distribution of ingredients. Cute location — close to the beach, kitschy Mexican décor in the two story building. Our waitress was an adorable American girl, helpful and a comfortable level of chatty.

As Californians living San Diego(aka an extension of Mexico), we like to say we know Mexican food. With that said, we were pretty pleased with Miss Margaritas take on tacos and burritos. It was pretty texmex-y but it was really good food. Two tacos and a Corona for $ 15 was a great deal for a touristy Australian restaurant as well.

It’s hard to grumble about anything in Byron Bay, as you’re likely there on a trip or for some surfing and general good times. I like the vibe of this place — the staff are fun and helpful and will give good recommendations if you ask — and the offers and menu certainly encourage you to opt for something alcoholic to wash your food down with. The food is tasty and filling and relatively good value, especially if you take them up on some of their lunch offers. Whilst the burrito didn’t quite blend in the way my SoCal/UK burrito tastes would’ve liked, all the ingredients were tasty, fresh and abundant. The tacos were excellent though and sizeable. Between us we had a couple of cocktails(gingerbread marg the highlight) and some red wine, which was decent for the price. It’s right by the beach, so it’ll be busy in the summer and I suspect that fun and kooky charm of the staff might not translate into efficient service when pushed. But just relax and enjoy it. If you’re in a rush, there are plenty of quicker, cheaper alternatives in town.

Seeing that I always get plucked out of lines at American airports and put in a room with Mexicans and other fine ethnic peoples to have our clothes taken off us and X-rayed with those explosive machine things, plus seeing as I have traveled extensively south of the border and love the food, people, and all the stray dogs on their beaches, I feel fully justified in considering myself an honorary Mexican. Whiiiiiich kind of makes me a bit snobby about Mexican restaurants in Australia. Which are mostly Tex-mex. But Miss Margarita does a pretty good job, and it doesn’t hurt that its right across the road from the Beach Hotel and I cans see the Byron Bay surf while I’m eating my nachos. Speaking of, the pulled pork nachos are the best in the house. My chipotle chili margarita didn’t have any chili kick at all, but then I’m a chili bandit and need a ton so it probably wasn’t their fault. Spoke to the waiter and he brought back several shades darker and and considerably punchier, good man. The much-hyped ceviche was a let-down, but the fajitas were pretty damned ace, even more so because we kept eating and eating and there was still a metric a$$-ton of food on the table that we just couldn’t get through. Did the ol’ belt-loosen and still couldn’t finish it off. Whuf. Great for a dinner with friends. Or acquaintances. Or, hell, with people you don’t know. We Mexicans are a friendly bunch, we’ll get on with anyone.
