A-OK to a T. Get a wristband during the day from one of the girls in bikinis trolling main beach. Get in for free before 10 or 11pm, and then enjoy a night of debauchery. One of the few late-night places in Byron that doesn’t shutdown early. Good music, good sized dance floor, smoking area outside on the patio, and bathroom lines that aren’t entirely appalling. All and all, not a bad spot to party at in Byron, especially if you start the night right by pregaming at Nomads on their rooftop(and no, you don’t need to be staying there to enjoy the madness — you can waltz right up the staircase and let yourself in).

Fun times at Woody’s! The bar, the danceflo’, the comfy booths(well, I never sat in them, since I was always getting my groove on, but they appeared comfy!) Some nights, they pump 90’s hip hop, which completes my life. They have a super fantastic photographer, all the photos after Woody’s nights get posted on their Facebook page. There are pool tables for those who want a break from dancing, and tables around the perimeter if you want to set your drink down and chat loudly. But really, hit the dance floor, I say! Have a great time, but be aware that all of Byron has these new rules now, where bars cannot serve shots, pitchers, or certain drinks anymore… I know, but that’s the way it is! Just have some cider, or their beer, and enjoy yourself!

After leaving Cheeky Monkey we saw Woody’s and were immediately intrigued by the signage. No cover to get in and cool people chilling inside. They have a pool table and different beers along with cool art/pics on the walls. The night we were there the DJ was spinning some good music and it wasn’t that full so we were able to share a couch with another group of people who we ended up being quick friends with. Unfortunately, this was also the night of the day the earthquake in Chirstchurch, NZ happened, so that kind of put a damper in the night since we were headed there after Byron. Either way, if I’m ever in Byron again, this will definitely be at the top of my «places to go» list. The vibe is just what you’d expect from a beach city.
