We were welcomed by 100 screaming children! I asked for an ice bucket, um noo. Staff quite friendly. quite cheap! And the kick in booty no credit card! Tax fraud central.

I love Franks! I was lucky enough to be able to live down the road from Franks, so it meant as much awesome food as I could handle! The pizza is fresh, tasty and the wood fire adds a delicious smoky flavour. It’s authentic Italian food coupled with great service!

Great pizzas at an affordable price. The pizzas served here are always delicious! The service here is commendable as well. Truly a noteworthy place if you ask me.

Franks pizza is one of those places where they never let you down. The quality of the pizza is consistently good and the staff are really friendly! I’m a regular here and always get the ‘franks special’ pizza. Make sure you’ve got enough cash because they don’t take cards. The nearest ATM is the bankwest ATM across the street at the 7 – 11 service station.

Franks isn’t as good as it used to be, the pizza ingredients are too bland(low quality/not much flavour) for a place that’s supposed to have great pizza, Havering said that it’s better than the average pizza joint, I really like the margherita pizza, however the franks special was a huge let down.

Frank’s is always a fun, cheap, entertaining night out. With some friends and a few bottles of wine, you can have some great pizza, salads and gelato for under $ 20 a head(usually with leftover pizza to take away). It won’t be the best pizza you’ve ever eaten but it is tasty and amazingly good value. Definitely recommended!

Update at at Nov 2013 Frank’s has new owners(after 40 yrs I’m told). The décor has had a minor spruce up as has the food. what was good honest pizza and pasta is now even better and still great value — don’t forget to bring cash though(no cards).A local institution. Fast, honest, traditional, no fuss, no frills. Good classic pizza, hearty pasta. Always busy, but easy going and friendly. Beware CASHONLY. Enjoy.

Frank’s Pizza is the best no-frills pizza in Sydney. Plonked on the side of Parramatta Rd, it would be understandable if Frank’s slipped under the radar like many other eateries on this busy road. And yet, Frank’s manages to be busy seven nights a week, its restaurant packed and with twice as many takeaways flying out the door. With a simple menu of pizza favourites(for me it’s the Napoletana with chilli), Frank’s is hardly gourmet — don’t expect to find any cheese on the menu other than grated parmesan and mozzarella. Rather, it specialises in simple, delicious food at simply delicious prices: $ 10 for a small pizza, $ 12 for a medium and $ 14 for a large. Chuck in a sizeable salad of iceberg lettuce, tomato and cucumber for only $ 3 and a beef lasagne for $ 7, Frank’s manages to keep their prices at figures that seems almost vintage. I’m not saying it’s the best pizza you’ll ever have. Nor is it the most calm or romantic dining experience — orders are yelled from one side of the kitchen to the other, the phone rings off the hook and the place is so packed it can’t be called intimate. But Frank’s has clearly earned its reputation — and with good food at these prices, you’ll be spreading the news too.

Recently refurbished, Frank’s Pizza Bar is a Parramatta Road institution that delivers exactly on the promise of the name. The restaurant has a range of 14 pizzas available in three sizes, priced at $ 11, $ 13, and $ 15, respectively; the remainder of the menu is bolstered by traditional Italian staples, including pasta dishes, salads, and deserts. Of course, the pizza is the main attraction: as two growing boys, my dinner companion and I polished off a large Messipica(menu item #4) and a Marinara(menu item #14). The Messipica had a light spicy kick and the prawn and clam toppings on the Marinara were very fresh. Both pizzas were rich with toppings and a perfect amount of oil; although these dishes will not revolutionise this branch of cuisine, they hit all the right flavour spots. Leave it up to someone else to introduce triangle pizzas or double decker pizzas to the marketplace. A friendly ambiance permeates this family business and although the wait staff could be a little awkward at times, it in no way detracted from the dining experience. The new décor is a kind of industrial look with an abundance of timber beams and exposed concrete columns. Gone are the bars on the windows, now offering an unobstructed view of the street: there’s nothing quite like watching people who aren’t eating pizza while you eat pizza. On a Thursday night, the restaurant held a sizeable crowd, however we were able to be seated immediately. Frank’s does command a loyal weekend patronage, so be sure to either book ahead or be ready to take advantage of the restaurant’s take-away facilities. Patrons who prefer to live a cashless life should be forewarned, however — Frank’s does not have EFTPOS facilities. For these modern conveniences, you will have to rely on a Commonwealth Bank ATM in the Mobil service station across the road. Ultimately, Frank’s Pizza offers an extremely affordable dining option for the large contingent of students and young families in this otherwise barren region of the Inner West. The nearest two competitors are the Pizza Hut on Parramatta Road and the Crust Pizza on Annandale’s Booth Street. The cheap price and quality of the menu are enough to put Frank’s ahead of these also-rans, however, the rarity of an affordable and speedy restaurant with a large seating area and sunny ambience makes it a clear-cut option for an easy meal.
