Food is great and staff are awesome. Coffee is ok, but has a very acidic aftertaste(purely personal preference).

The atmosphere here is great. Obviously a very popular spot there are a lot of locals who come in and get their ‘regular’ I got the avocado toast and a flat white and they were both delicious! The staff is really friendly and even though I was there by myself to eat I didn’t feel weird about it. It definitely is on the pricier side which is the only reason I wouldn’t be back more regularly.

Got to try what«My Brother’s Wife» tastes like, and it wasn’t half bad… This relaxed café, serving Golden Cobra coffee was a great place to relax and have a couple of coffees. While they don’t serve single origin coffees any more, the coffee that they do serve is pretty darn good. More likely to be enjoyed by milk coffee drinkers, the Cobra does well in this place. Best of all, parking seems to be in abundance, so you can drive by, grab a coffee and then head along your way. Oh… And they do food and juice here too… Coffee: Golden Cobra(My Brother’s Wife) Passion: 7⁄10 Crema: 7⁄10

The food here looks AMAZING and so unique and the atmosphere is awesome. It’s right next door to my work place. If you work by RPC it’s an easy walk. The coffee here is also glorious and strong. Try some of their baked goods, they’re baked fresh daily you won’t be disappointed!

Great coffee. Amazing food with a menu that changes often enough to keep one interested. Just a bit off the beaten path. Great weekend hideaway!

Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. When it’s busy(i.e. a Sunday morning) service is seriously slow(at many occasions while we were there the chef even had to come out to get food off his counter and to the tables). BUT If you’re happy to sit on the patio, chat and enjoy the day you’ll appreciate Runcible Spoon. Their coffee is great(nice and short espressos) and their food is tasty and generous. Baked eggs are great, as is their muesli and from what I could see at other tables, the bacon and egg rolls must be getting a reputation for their awesomeness.

Went here on New Year’s Day after reading the recommendation here on Unilocal.Fantastic! We were able to book, though I get the feeling that usually bookings are not accepted. Lucky us! Had the baked eggs with chorizo($ 18) and it was absolutely incredible. Perhaps, if I were being picky, I would say that the egg yolks were not soft enough. But that was minor. The coffee was outstanding — smooth, dark, and with none of the bitterness that I’ve noticed seems to be a trend at the moment. Staff were friendly enough considering how insanely busy it was. Definitely visit!

This café is hidden, but it’s worth seeking out. After a tip-off from a friend, I followed her directions to find Runcible Spoon. «It’s on the same street as Deus ex Machina,» she said. «Off Parramatta Rd, closer to Glebe.» So I drove the streets of Camperdown, driving past Deus two to three times, my head stuck out the window in search of the café. Despite actually driving past the café itself two to three times, I was unable find it. So, with a little extra determination second time around, I parked my car and walked the streets, intent on finding this café that I was beginning to think existed within a parallel universe accessed via some kind of time-space loop hole. Eventually, I found it. Hiding down a side alley in a group of buildings/apartments/office buildings, its deck of bright orange chairs stood out against the grey backdrop. The building itself isn’t much, with giant concrete slabs and a tar floor making up the outside deck dotted with plastic orange school chairs and glossy white tabletops. And yet, it’s far more peaceful than you would expect(being so close to Parramatta Rd, Bridge Rd and Missenden Rd) and Runcible Spoon have done well with what they’ve got. The deck has plentiful greenery to make up for their concrete jungle environment and the walls of the building opposite are decorated with street art that makes you grateful for the concrete canvas. Inside is a little nicer, with a cute espresso bar in front of the machine and a couple of tables. A wooden ladder leans against the wall, its rungs hosting Gourmet magazines. The water station beside it adds to the rustic look, as an outside tap pours waters beneath narrow shelves of cups. Cute and quirky art decorates their walls and as opposed to the plastering of posters you find at some cafes, the posters here are elegantly framed, giving next months Metro gig a sense of historical importance. The main thing about Runcible Spoon is that the coffee is good. Like, worthy of making the trip good. As Golden Cobra beans keep popping up all over the place with varied results, I was happy to find Runcible Spoon makes the most from these magical beans. Also, the barista is so sweet that you can’t help but dream of waking up to his coffee every morning in your family home in the countryside. The menu, a scrawl of black ink on recycled brown paper, is short but sweet and changes regularly, with the gluten free and vegetarian options clearly marked with their respective(G) and(V). They use organic and free range eggs and prices are pretty standard.
