Good Chinese food. The owner is very friendly. It feels like dungeon in the restaurant because it is located in the underground floor. Overall good place for a quick Chinese dinner.

A Canberra classic since the early 1960s. Décor looks unchanged since then as well! Quick, efficient service, and plenty of Chinese classics unthreatening to skippies. But a selection of the«real thing» dishes as well, and generally some Chinese people eating-in — definitely not a tourist trap. Food is tasty and served promptly. Never a bad meal here. Not trendy and not scenic. Just eating good honest food.

Great food. Quick service. Honest advice on what’s good. Strange location in basement, but been around for 20 years, so must be good. Will come back.

Great food. Quick service. Don’t be put off by the basement location. Prices are very reasonable, our party of four ordered six dishes for less than $ 100.00. We highly recommend the Pineapple and Chicken Special Fried Rice.

Best value eating in Canberra. The food is hot, quick and plentiful! Don’t come for the décor, there are no windows and it feels like someone’s basement. Come with an empty stomach to eat good Chinese. Favourite dish is the chili cashew chicken –delish.

I went to this place in the terrifying days before Unilocal had crossed the water to Australia. Without it, I had nothing to guide me. After a while of wandering around Garema Place, Happy’s seemed to be the most promising choice. I wasn’t blown away, but I wasn’t disappointed either, and one doesn’t go to Australia for the food(sorry guys). I recommend the sliced pork in black bean sauce.
