We had to give our order twice. The drinks came after our lunch and staff did not follow up. They asked«how was it?» And left before we could answer. It was like they were instructed to do it by management but not on filtering information back-esp if it isn’t positive.

This is a great café for breakfast and early morning business meetings. Located at the edge of the Canberra Centre, it’s easy to find both on foot and by car. The service is good and coffee excellent. One of my colleagues had their Fruit Loaf, which looks totally divine — generously served with butter and jam — delicious. I wanted some for myself! I’ll be back here, thank you.

When the staff could be bothered taking our order we ordered the beer battered fish and chips. I’ve been to Cream before and ordered the same meal a few months ago. This time the portion size was greatly reduced and the price increased. Now, I don’t mind paying more if the quality is going to improve but at best the meal was edible only because I was hungry. Won’t be going back. Folks, find something better close by.

Despite the name«café and bar» it is also a good restaurant with a wide-ranging menu and regularly changing specials. We visited a couple of times and would have gone back for a third time if it had been open on Sunday evening.

As per every other Canberra review: overpriced, cold, bad service. Why why why. Etc. Etc. Etc. In particular, the staff paid us no attention from the moment we came, and my calamari may as well have been raw.

Burger #262: I Should Know Better Completely my fault for ordering a beef dish in Australia, but with every trip down under I’m hopeful of having at least one good steak or burger; Cream did not deliver on that hope. From the overly chewy and tough bun, to the weirdly sweet beetroot relish, to the ever annoying fact that they will not cook a burger under medium-well, there was little hope for this poor lil’ guy. And of course the fact that they(and everyone else) misuses the term«Wagyu» so frequently, was the nail in the coffin. There was zero hint of the rich marbling and delicious fattiness that goes along with true Japanese beef. Be safe in Australia; don’t eat beef!

A bit fancy diner-style spot. I’ve been here for coffee(very good) and breakfast(quite good). It was very early(about 7:15am, I’m not sure they were even properly open yet) and so we got served very quickly. It was certainly a better choice, and for much less money, than our hotel down the road would have charged us. I had an interview here, too. And I got the job! That’s got to count for something.
