When I say 3 star I am not comparing to any other Hotel in Canberra but comparing to other Park Hyatt hotels.
This is a Park Hyatt hotel part of the Hyatt hotel chain and yes it is set in a park but does not seem to have the usual features of a Park Hyatt, and this is reflected in the cheaper prices.
I preface this with a statement so people don’t wonder why I keep coming back. As I wrote this, it was to my knowledge the best Hotel in Canberra by a country mile.
This is a top of the market hotel with service to match the expected in so many ways.
But on too many occasion something happens to remind you that you are really in a country town.
The Hyatt group did not build this hotel but acquired the Hotel Canberra. The room in the old part of the hotel are the best by far but the walls are not of a modern standard and noise can leak through the walls especially from the the bathrooms in the suites.
This a good hotel but does not live up to its brand.
