I wasn’t too fussed with Zagame’s. It was just like any other pub/restaurant so it had nothing that made it unique. It was fairly expensive for the quality of food as well. I had a pretty average chicken parma. It wasn’t too large in size and didn’t look all that appealing but it still cost $ 20. It just made me think of the Malvernvale that serves better parmas with a pot for $ 13. The atmosphere over there is nicer as well. I noticed a fair number of people sitting at the pokies at midday and that just depressed me. However, the staff are quite friendly and accommodating. They chat to the regulars and are the sort to know you by name.

Located within the renovated site at the corner of Derby Rd and Dandenong Rd, Caulfield, easy access to the restaurant is via some steps or a sexy spiral ramp so even the oldies can get in easily. On a busy corner but with street parking outside, Zagame’s stylish styling and décor invites you to stay and enjoy. And there is lots to enjoy. From the Bistro to the Restaurant to the pool tables in the basement(with their own bar). The food is good pub fare, with waiter service in the dining room, and the prices are very reasonable. The range is not great but the quality of the food consistently good. When ordering fish of the day you can have grilled or fried for the same price, salads or vegs nicely presented and fresh. I will be coming back here again when in the area.
