I’ve eaten here twice and have enjoyed both experiences. Great food and very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very much your old style Chinese restaurant. It is not a posh overdone place. The service is good when you can get their attention(although this can take a while) and they are very welcoming.

The outside plays on a traditional Chinese kinda look and the inside pretty much has a Chinese diner kinda feel! It’s like you’re in a diner in Hong Kong — nothing fancy but clean enough for a peace of mind. My mum said we should check it out as they always display the most delicious looking large buns inside the window so in we go. The service is friendly and efficient, with the waitresses/waiters dressed in typical red Chinese clothing — I guess they were going for the traditional look! But enough blabber, the food is what you want to know about. The soybean milk was sweet and hot, perfect to dip the deep fried dough(I think they call it fritters here) into it. Yum. Tick. The little steamed meat dumplings were bursting with soup inside and the meat was deliciously seasoned. Another tick. The fried noodles were slightly oily but flavour was still good. Tick, tick and tick. All I hope is that this place keeps up the food standard, cause it’s pretty damn good!

I have found a pretty decent restaurant for authentic Beijing food in chatswood. Was recommended by a close friend for their Peking duck and really friendly staff. Had walked past the big red chinese door many times but never tried it. Will definitely go back the next time I want a nice local sit down meal. Moderate pricing $$.
