Can you feel it in the air? Krispy Kreme is coming to Perth…
When I was first hypnotised amidst the sugary sensation that is a Krispy Kreme donut, I literally lost myself. I was in the airport in Melbourne, and much like many Perth people I assume, I always wondered why many people were clutching a Krispy Kreme box as if it was the most precious thing they were taking back… I was darn curious to say the least. How good must a donut be to warrant such hype?
I got my first Krispy Kreme donut that day from a friend who was taking a box back with them. Obviously I had to wait first as they took a few snaps for bragging rights on Facebook, but once the logistics were handled, it was time to enjoy.
Sinking my teeth into that perfectly glazed silken dress that mama Kreme wears so well, my eyes closed in slow motion and my head lolled back as if I was being filmed for a food commercial, except I was in the airport. Any intelligent person watching I assume who have tried these donuts would simply see the Krispy Kreme box, nod in admiration and understanding and continue on.
These donuts are good. And if you were rich enough to be able to attend the royal show this year in Perth, you would see a line so massive you would think Samuel L Jackson himself was taking autographs.
‘This is a TASTY donut!’ he would say, I’m sure.
Heard the latest? Yes, Krispy Kreme is coming to Perth. Move aside Santa. Check out their Facebook page, they have been dropping hints for a while, aswell as SEEK ads for staff. We may not need more sugary, fatty foods here in Perth, but we will welcome you with open arms Krispy Kreme; arm wings flapping and all. We can’t wait.
