We went to Clayton specifically for dumplings. On the recommendation of many fiends we were headed to Mr. Pings, but upon arrival we learned they were closed for the holidays. So we meandered up the street and found We Love Dumplings. We saw that they were making dumplings behind the front window so we took that as a promising sign. I’m glad we stopped in because the dumplings were delicious. We shared orders of the fried beef and steamed pork, and I don’t know which was better. The service was polite and prompt, which is often saying a lot for a dumpling house! If you’re on Clayton give this place a shot, whether Ping’s is open or not.

It was good but not amazing. There’s heaps of dumpling and other Chinese food options to choose from. Given the name of the place, we mostly ordered dumplings. The steamed ones were good, but unfortunately the fried ones were a bit too burnt and oily. Ambience wise, it’s nothing special. It’s not quite as crowded as the legendary Ping’s Dumplings down the street, but still fairly noisy and tightly packed in.
