Yep, so this is happening. I’m at that super awkward phase between actually looking properly pregnant and maybe having just had a really huge lunch. Nonetheless, my pre-pregnancy clothes are really not cutting it anymore(or they are cutting in to me in places I don’t appreciate right now). Obviously I was stoked to find that Pea in a Pod had an outlet nearby to my 3121 island in Collingwood — I could get some bargains! Or maybe not… Let’s be honest, the heavily discounted items in this place are not things most people would want to wear circa 2015. And there isn’t even a lot of partially discounted stuff. I’m going to be so brave to call this place a proper retail store dressed down as an outlet: mostly full priced clothes, but cheap rent for the retailer as they are using part of their warehouse space and don’t need to do a fancy and expensive shop fit out. That’s fine with me, just don’t call it an outlet. The woman in the shop was super friendly, but I probably needed a bit more advice on sizing etc as I have never done this before and have no idea! Either way I left with a few basic things that should help see me through quite a few months, but my wallet considerably lighter…

After a soul crushing attempt at maternity shopping in Target I was very pleased with my recent trip to Pea’s outlet store. A wave of relief almost — a painful task made pleasant as the staff were exceptionally helpful, taking items to and fro the heated, private changerooms(curtains that close all the way, bar heater installed — very nice touch). The range was excellent, with plenty of last season stock marked from $ 5 to latest season items at slightly reduced or full price, well laid out and inviting. The newest stock seems sorted into design but the older seasons are kindly sorted into size range. I love this approach to sale stock, it’s so easy to find things and less chance of seeing items you like but can’t fit into *heartbreak*… After trying on multiple items, I settled on four dresses and paid about $ 270, not a bad average considering it was mostly new season stock. Sadly I didn’t fit the sample size range, but if you are a size 10 you might save a bundle! The overall quality of the dresses is excellent and the service was considerate and kind and quick. Layout is clean and organised and a «hubby couch» is provided. The private parking is good, but don’t be turned off by the look of the building/street — outlet shopping is just that, factories in Collingwood — it’s not glamorous outside. It’s almost a shame that I don’t require more maternity wear, as it would be easy to keep returning to this store, the best I can do is recommend that if you are pregnant and keen on good quality, nice styled items, you pay them a visit.

My fiancé was finding it hard to find places in Melbourne that specialised in maternity wear until we came to this place. Hidden away in Collingwood, this place has a huge variety of maternity wear. The atmosphere is quite unique as it appears to be sectioned off from a manufacturing warehouse.
