LOVE this place! In a city full of expresso, cafes, flat whites and coffee shops it’s nice to find a nice little tea oasis where you can escape the ‘grind’ and where the staff/owners actually know their stuff when it comes to tea!!! Both teas that my husband and I ordered were absolutely delicious and came with multiple steepings of the same leaves so we could experience the nuances of each type of tea. This place was so delicious I walked out with three bags of tea!!! Oops!

We got the cheese board with three cheeses and it was delicious! It came with very tasty bread and olives. The atmosphere is great here. I also had liquorice and lavender tea. Fantastic! Great music too.

Been here twice in one week and am in total love with their peppermint tea. My first stop was to pick up a gift for my brother, a huge tea drinker, but the waiter there offered me a seat and one of their menus with what seemed a never ending list of teas and I was sold on trying at least one. I’ve always loved a good peppermint tea so that’s where I started. They brew it in front of you to perfect temperature and strength. Oh my lord, it was so darn good. They have a selection of breads and cakes that I didn’t take advantage of. Being pretty inexperienced with tea I was peppering this poor guy with questions and never once did he make me feel like I was annoying him or wasting his time. He let me smell anything I even briefly glanced at and talked me through how to brew the different ones. I ended up drinking two cups of tea and loved both, walking away with a bag of each. Went back there the next day to grab a peppermint tea to go, different staff member but equally as lovely and I swear people on the street thought I was huffing. Their peppermint tea is so strong and delicious that for the first five minutes I end up just sucking peppermint air through the lid. Love Storm in a Teacup. Makes me sad that we don’t have one in Brissy.

A large Tea fan, I ventured in here with my friend on a cold afternoon for a serious green tea de-stress. The vegan green tea and raspberry cheesecake was wonderful(my friend being vegan became an instant fan) and the staff matched our teas as we struggled with the amount of choice. Since then, on a cold day, I have returned for their chai frequently. The vast menu with perfect, thought-out descriptions lead you on a great Tea adventure. It is a small cute little shop that apparently does turn into a devilish tea cocktail bar after hours — which I am yet to try. My favourite part is, if you like your tea so much, you can take it home! This team put such tea companies as T2 to shame with the volume, quality and freshness; no more having to buy tea containers or upselling. The staff are passionate and their advice is gold.

Storm in a Teacup brings together two of my favourite things — tea and alcohol. This place was found quite by accident — shopping in a store across the street, we stepped out and immediately decided that we just *had to* go in. I’m glad we did, because I’m in love. The tea range in phenomenal — so many blends I’ve not heard of before covering all tea types(black, white, silver). Not only that the magicians have devised a way to bring together the tea and alcohol in a range of cocktails that will truly warm the cockles of your heart. In the colder months, I can recommend the ‘Nana’s Tea’, served warm, in a cup and saucer, black tea spiked with spiced rum and dished up with a small piece of cake, just the way a rum-swigging Nana would have intended. I’m yet to sample the food, but the menu is very enticing and I’ll be back again soon.

My coffee obsession is almost matched by my Mum’s tea obsession. So I had to take her here for an afternoon catch up to impress her with some fancy selections. If you’re a tea nut, this is an absolute must-try. There were more varieties than I could imagine. You can also buy the tea to take home, so they will take off the price of your cup if you make a purchase. Mum is coeliac, so was delighted by the good selection of gluten free cakes and slices to enjoy with our cuppas. I didn’t realise that they also do brunch, so next time I will bring her back for the full food and tea experience. A homely, cosy delight.

Want to go to a place just like home? Then storm in a teacup is for you. In fact let the awesomely named shop persuade you, that yes folks, the resurgence in high tea, and quite possibly tea parties is here to stay. The space occupies what once was the old trippy taco, and the owner and staff are simply lovely. I think Storm would make for a great urban-picnic escapade. The space is small and quiet; perfect for an almost meditative relaxation with tea. Perhaps an inverse Alice in wonderland; They’re not mad, but mad for tea. The tea menu itself is extensive, I was so giddy with excitement that i didn’t really read it properly as all the choices looked as good as the one that preceded it. what to choose indeed. Prices range depending on tea grade, type ad of course how rare it is. I hadn’t planned on doing a review when walking in here, it just sort of came about. The owner does have a personal connection to the tea grower and supplier, so you can be assured of excellence in your product. I really should have bought something. it’s a bit cheeky not to considering the fancy equipment they have to brew teas to perfection.(Temperature and brewing times) I was in the area on other means, and my parking ticket situation was looking as much of gamble as I was willing to take, being financially challenged and all. Storm in a tea cup is down the quieter end of Smith street, near Victoria parade. Well worth the vist and highly recommended, especially considering the cute tea cups and sauces. I believe one can be supplied with cake; I did see them making it as i walked in. This is the sort of establishment we need to have more of. Kudos.
