Friday night we took our little monster out for Thai, we’d read a few good reviews for Tae Thai and decided to give it a crack. We ordered the money bags, Penang curry with chicken, seafood in curry powder and egg, Thai Tae fried rice and pad Thai. The money bags were a bit different to what I’ve had before, delicious and I reckon they were made in house. The Penang curry was quite soupy and lacked the vibrant red colour and therefore flavour that I love about Penang curry, it tasted watered down and was so mild my toddler could eat it. The seafood in curry powder was a poor imitation, the seafood was cooked perfectly but there are much better versions in Perth. On the other hand the fried rice and pad Thai were fantastic, honestly probably the best pad Thai I’ve had in Perth. Service was friendly and accommodating, really great. The restaurant isn’t geared towards dining in but our toddler loved the fish tank and we were pleased that they allow BYO. Bottom line: Ask if you want your food to be spicy, or stick to dishes that aren’t usually spicy and you’ll be right.

Quality ingredients, presented well with just not enough flavour. We decided to try this one after seeing highlighted in the Unilocal weekly. There are only a handful of tables with their core business being takeaway and delivery. We ordered: — Pad Thai — Panang Chicken — Seafood with Curry powder and egg — fried rice — money bags The money bags had a yellow egg pastry and were clearly made in house. Served with sweet chilli sauce they were delicious. The Seafood with curry powder and egg arrived next. Everything was cooked perfectly however it was too mild so didn’t really come to life like this dish can when done well. Panang chicken was soupy and tasted nice but again too mild. Similarly the fried rice while nice did not have the right balance of flavour a to capture. The Pad Thai was the highlight. Noodles were cooked perfectly with just enough sauce to make it sticky. I will try this one again but make sure to ask for them to crank up the spice.

I haven’t got anything bad to say about Thai Tae although this is only my second time here, the staff are so friendly(even recognising my face upon returning). If you live in the local area or are driving through and feel like a flavoursome, fresh and value for money feed then I highly recommend checking this place out. They are primarily a take away store, however, you can dine in here, it’s not what you would call a restaurant but it’s still comfortable enough to enjoy your delicious meal, along with BYO which is always handy. I will most definitely be back again

OMG! !! Spearwood has got an amazing local Thai restaurant!!! Well, I think the term restaurant should be used loosely.. As honestly it is a take out shop with three tables that they serve. But with food this good, and how busy it already is three tables may not be enough to keep the locals happy! Backing up… it was a Wednesday night and me being the diligent and loving son… went to visit the parental! I asked where they would like to eat and they recommended this gem… We knew nothing of what to expect… we walked and and I was a little apprehensive. . Whilst looking at menu outside, three different groups of people getting take away raved.. so we thought we would give a go… Big serves, fresh ingredients a at a reasonable price… very happy and definitely will be back!!!

I admit I was pretty hungry when I ate here but it was really great food. The spring rolls and money bags were really tasty, I don’t normally like the deep fried stuff but they were very easy to eat. The pork chili basil was delicious, a bit chewy but very tasty, they left some fat on, none of this white boy chicken breast with no skin business. The spicy noodles were great too, everything was really fresh. Understated little place, more take away oriented but you can eat there too, BYO.
