Service is fantastic and the food is amazing! Can’t go past Cafeine when I’m on coorparoo! Hash cakes are crunchy on the outside and soft as a cloud on the inside. Perfect poached eggs and tomato relish is a great side. French toast was Devine. They cut the crusts off to keep the consistency soft. Banana and bacon with maple is a lovingly placed atop. Can’t go wrong

Once again great service food and coffee every time. You should check it out. Try the baked eggs wrapped in bacon

Well designed café, with plenty of space, proper furniture bought from a shop that matches. I needed that. After visiting numerous«hipster» cafes that look like they’ve been furnished from roadside collection day and op shops, it was a refreshing change to sit on a proper chair with matching table. The coffee was good, but difficult to drink from a bowl cup with no handle. Make your choice — burn your fingers or slop it down your front. The food was average. The bacon wrapped baked eggs promised a lot and failed to deliver. The eggs were over cooked and the bacon under cooked. I appreciate that these two items do have very different baking times, but work out chef! The accompanying pesto tomato was lackluster. $ 40 for two breakfasts and two coffees was pretty standard Brisbane prices(and aren’t we all suckers?) Maybe 2 stars is a bit harsh, but I really wanted that bacon baked eggs to be good. This café typifies the current problem with Brisbane cafes — the quality of food has not kept up with the quality of coffee. When you’re charging $ 15 to $ 18 for a breakfast you need to make it good.

I’ve had mixed experiences at Cafeine. I really want to like this place more than I actually do. The menu is fairly diverse, but doesn’t quite match my tastes and feel that it can be pricier than other better breakfast options in Brisbane. They definitely have some unique ideas(I recall some baked eggs wrapped in bacon that looked very interesting) and a range of different smoothies and juices though.

Anyone who has read Eats, Shoots & Leaves will understand why my jaw fell as I approached Cafeine. I understand it is a play on words, but unfortunately, it’s not clever enough for me to forgive. Bad form, bad form. Luckily, Cafeine has it’s good points. The space is fantastic. I love corner spaces, and Cafeine’s main dining area is a triangular room with big windows that let lots of light through. They offer window bench seating, or your regular table situation. There’s a mezzanine level above the triangular dining space which is where a large group of people would be accommodated for best. The long table that sits in the room where all the magic happens is best used for waiting for take aways. There’s also an alfresco area that is quite nice to sit at too, if you can manage to block out the traffic noises. Seeing coffee syrup patterns in my coffee throws me back to times past. It was the early 2000’s when ‘coffee art’ was all the rage. They’re still tapping into this at Cafeine, and I have to say, I’m totally ok with it. The coffee was tasty and pretty. The orange and almond cake I had this morning seductively fell apart with the approach of my fork. I just knew that it was made just a few hours ago, and it was as fresh as fresh could be. The service could do with a little work. They did forget my coffee. I did get it in the end, but with no apology, no acknowledgement that they’d screwed up. They have some tasty breakfast options: pesto tomatoes with fetta on turkish toast for $ 11.50 is something you shouldn’t miss out on if you’re here. The servings are wealthy, and the presentation has a modern twist. Cafeine gets my vote because I love the space. I’ll ignore the nonchalant, cold service, but will enjoy muddling the coffee art, and dismantling my food. It’s a good place to come if you find yourself in Cooparoo.

Located just off one of South Brisbane’s busiest roads Cafeine(and that’s not a typo) can be recognised by it’s striking red and white colour scheme. In spite of the often hectic intersection on its doorstep this local favourite boasts the sort of laid back atmosphere Brisbane café’s are renowned for. The white walls create a feeling of openness and space so you’re unlikely to feel cramped even if it’s busy. The small group of core staff are friendly and welcoming so it only takes a visit or two for one to feel like a regular. And I only needed to eat here the once to figure out their toasted turkish sandwiches are delicious! A recent change in management has seen their menu extended to include savory tarts, a mushroom omelette and several weekend breakfast specials. They’re coffees are better than average and reasonably priced at $ 3.50 for a small and $ 4.50 for a large. But if it’s the middle of a hot summer day you would be better off going with one of their smoothies — They come in a healthy and not so healthy variety. So if you like your beverages so thick with ice cream you can barely get them through the straw go with the latter. If you’re planning on giving Cafeine a try it’s worth noting that there is a primary school next door so it’s probably best to avoid the peak drop off and pick up times.
