I have been to this restaurant with my family a few times and its been very consistent. The food is 8⁄10. The service 8⁄10. The location is good and it has a bottle shop across the road, which is handy if they don’t have what you prefer on their menu. This place is very kid friendly. Overall a great dining experience. Favourite dishes: butter chicken, methi chicken(delicious), goat curry and Dal tadka.

The St Leonards/Crows Nest area is spoiled for choice when it comes to great Indian food. Too bad this isn’t the case elsewhere in Sydney. This restaurant is definitely one of my favourites. The Thalis are quite cheap if you like a variety of curries($ 16.90 for the vegetarian ones) — just be prepared to need a nap after :), and their Malai Kofta is the best I’ve ever had. It is not best suited for a quick meal, however, so order ahead and get takeaway if you’re in a rush.

One of our favourite Indian restaurants — we always order their Butter Chicken and naan bread –some of the best-ever, but other dishes also yummy. We just discovered their Masala Dosa and were very impressed though it was slow to arrive.

Last Train to Bombay is our favorite Indian restaurant in all of Australia,(to be fair, we have not tried many outside Sydney). We love their eggplant dish and the butter chicken is the best we have ever had… We constantly recommend this restaurant to our friends and recommend it to you.

My search for good Indian restaurants in Sydney continues! This place had been suggested by a few friends, so I headed down with a mate to check it out — and was not disappointed. First of all — the garlic naan was massive — and I do mean massive… I’m not sure if this is the norm, but it could easily have been twice the size of a normal naan(I like naan, this is a quick and easy way to impress me. Which, given I’ve spent a paragraph talking about it, you could probably guess). The lamb Patak was good, I really enjoyed the dish(although I would have liked it a bit spicier). There are a range of dishes on the menu I would come back and try again, although sadly no jalfrezi. Overall impression? The restaurant is good enough that I would return, however I am still hoping to find an AMAZING Indian restaurant in Sydney to steal my heart and loyalties ;)

Sorry, I have to say it… ‘all aboard the last train to Bombay’! This place is fantastic — as close to being transported from Sydney to India as you’ll get. Probably because the cuisine here extends beyond ‘butter chicken’ to an array of specialty regional dishes that will delight your tastebuds. Like, for example, the Goan Beef Chili Masala which originates from Goa and is served with a touch of capsicum and coconut. Or the Malabar Fish dish originating from South India flavoured with fennel, coconut and black pepper. Whatever you choose make sure you go for something you’ve never tried before because it won’t fail to take you somewhere you’ve never been before.

I had heard that Crows Nest has some amazing Indian restaurants. Not sure which one is the best, I decided to visit the first one that I came across, the Last Train to Bombay restaurant. Ironic as it was the First train I took to taste Indian food at Crows Nest. The Last train was quite authentic in their food taste. I had their North Indian Naan bread and Malai Kofta vegetable. And my dining partner ordered a South Indian Dosa. The Dosa was Huge! The portions are definitely much larger than other restaurants in Sydney. But I wasn’t overly impressed. It was just average the taste and the service wasn’t exceptional either. The price is pretty much consistent with other restaurants and I’m not sure if it was worth driving up all the way for it.
