We were always intimidated to go into this store, because of the top-​of-​the-​line appliance features on the ground floor. We assumed we couldn’t afford anything. But we checked in when shopping for a new clothes washer and dryer. The salesperson was extremely helpful and worked with us on our needs and price range. We got a great deal on a Bosch set, and were surprised that we spent no more than at the big retailers. We’d much rather give custom to a family-​run company like this. Delivery was next day, and they installed everything without a fuss. Someday when we renovate our dream kitchen, we’ll be back.

Home renovation is a whole new world. Who would guess there were conceivably so many decisions to be made, even in updating a single room in the house. As a novice, I would head to a department store or large electrical chain for white goods, but last year I was taken here by a friend.
Specialising in kitchen and laundry appliances, it is a little less overwhelming than some of the larger places, where in order to focus on cookers and dryers you have to block out the televisions, airconditioners and hair straighteners.
I enjoyed the trial classes the store organised — debating the merits of Miele versus Gaggenau, we were invited to cooking demonstrations by each brand, with the opportunity to ask the demonstration chefs questions about the products as they were put into use.
We went with Miele, but that’s just by-​the-​by.
