Came for the Zeus Burger, and sweet mother mary it did not disappoint. It’s the burger equivalent of Elvis in his fat and sweaty phase and also he’s Greek and his mother is yelling at him to do the washing up but he tells her to be shut up because he’s playing X-Box and eating kebabs. It’s got a double wagyu patty and shaved kebab meat and hummous and chilli sauce and cheddar and quinoa tabouli and fries on the burger and it’s giant two-hander, a real face messer-upper, you’ll have rich juice all down your collar if you’re not quick with a napkin. Also got a side of fried pickles with garlic mayo and they were the full battered pickles, not those little sliced discs you sometimes get. Got there at 5pm after some beach action and the place was deserted, but as soon as it hit 5.30pm and kitchen opened, BOOM! every man and his burger hunger was there. It’s a pretty sleek fitout, and a cavernous pub, almost like a really fancy RSL with the pokie room(yuck) at the back. If i was a local, this would be on my hot list.

One word. Burger! We popped into Dee Why Hotel based on a FaceBook group we belong to. We had the Trufflenator burger with pecorino fries. Freaking amazing. Go on friday for $ 10 cocktails too(although a beer properly washes down this delicious meal). Short review, I know But there isn’t much to say… Go Eat This! :)

Following a massive refurb a year or so ago this place is a shiny, modern cavern to drinking and eating. It’s big, and has a range of seats, from benches, to fireplace-facing sofas, and partly-hidden rooms. It’s very dark. Ceilings are high, furnishings are ornate, but windows are small and few. It felt nightclub-dark even at mid-day. Air conditioning was MUCH too cold. The menu looks good. I wasn’t too hungry and ordered the chicken wings. Good thing I wasn’t famished either, because they were fairly few and skinny. Tasty enough though. The beer list is top-notch, though. They always seem to have 40 beers on tap, mostly Australian, and at least 40 types of bottled beer. There are lists at the bar and on chalkboards. Go on a rainy day for a session of craft ales, and order the pizza(they looked good).

Love the food, would like more gluten free choices and for this I only gave four stars. If you don’t have gluten issues the choices are fantastic as is the food.
