How could I not write a review for an understated institution of the Scarborough district? I moved to Perth in 1999 and Peko Peko was there, serving these delectable crusty rolls, splurging out with prawns in a very tangy sauce, among other things. While they no longer serve these rolls, they do serve some pretty fabulous Asian inspired meals and snacks, including rice paper rolls, sushi, noodle dishes and soups. I really like that they also support WA business by stocking a small producers range from various businesses in the south west of this state. I have bought the take away noodle salads on several occasions and I am not being coy about my food consumption when I tell you it is two meals worth. In one pot. For about eight bucks. That’s terrific value. Add to that a relatively quiet location and plenty of free parking, I have only great things to say about Peko Peko. You can dine in if you wish, but it aint that flash. You’re so close to the beach, just pack it and roll down to the coast. You won’t regret it.

I love Peko Peko for that quick fresh tasty and healthy take away option! Peko Peko has been a stalwart in the St Brigid’s Terrace shops. Lots to choose from here with a large range of sushi choices, hot dishes, salads and a good selection of soups! My favorite is their lemon pepper sushi and salmon sushi! A little different from the stock standard sushi choices! Service is always quick and friendly and there are take away and eat in options available!

Fast, fresh and friendly, Peko Peko is sushi for the future. They take all your Asian favourites and give them a modern Peko Peko twist. Ordinary Miso soup gets a bit more interesting with the addition of pumpkin and salmon, and you’ll find fresh sushi rolls with unconventional ingredients like lemon pepper tuna, Indian curry vegetable and yellow tail fish. Peko Peko trump the standard soya sauce with an array of super tasty dipping sauces. Try the Miso and Ginger sauce, it’s a fiesta for your taste buds! The dipping sauces double as dressing for the Asian inspired salads. $ 12 will buy you a healthy container of fresh greens, cashew nuts, noodles and your choice of either fresh cooked prawn, avocado or steamed chicken. Peko Peko is an essential stop en route from the beach!

On a recent saturday night, at a friends party, I was no where to be found — no need to stress, my friends found me and a platter of Peko Peko sushi tucked away, stomach exploding. Never would I have discovered this deliciously fresh sushi if my friend hadn’t used their catering services. Thankfully, now that I hunted down there store in Doubleview I make regular visits to my favourite sushi café. It is not the cheapest sushi around but they do offer some other authentic dishes if your not keen on eating seaweed: they have great soups, amazing rice paper rolls and scrumptious salads. Whether I rely on Peko Peko for takeaway dishes, to dine in or for catering, I always make room for this taste sensation.

This modern take on Japanese food has been so popular that the stores have grown from one to three in only a few years and there’s even one down south in Dunsborough. Super popular with locals for lunch and dinner, all the meals seem to be prepared for the health conscious in mind. There are no greasy Japanese options here. The range is pretty limited but tasty. They do take home meals to heat up at a later date, which is great when you’re rushing home late from work. The salads and sushi are their stand out offerings. The seaweed they use for the sushi is organic and sushi combinations are really unique. All the salads are great and both the orange and ginger and miso salad dressings are the bomb. Wok-tossed noodles are on the menu from 5pm and there is also a catering option available.
