This bakery, smack bang in the middle of Cazza Glades is always doing a pumping trade. Stocking a wide range; pies, cakes, cookies, muffins and lots of different loaves of bread, some products are baked on site and some are brought in(mostly it’s the cakes are brought in). I find that the products are ok most of time. I had a muffin this morning and it was really dry. Also the prices are really quite expensive.

Fresh and Crusty makes you crave bread if you are walking past or even uttering the name you are bound to want some of their warm bread offerings. They have a huge semi circular glass counter filled to the brim with cakes, slices and other sweet treats. There is also a range of pasties, pies and sausage rolls. The bread here is of good quality. I have had a few questionable experiences with their pies but I am willing to let it slide all and all it is a pretty good bakery.

I always think if your going to eat something naughty you may as well make sure it’s worth while, and Carine bakery has the best selection to choose from. Their breads are the freshest and crunchiest I could probably eat the entire loaf in one sitting, they come in the whitest of whites and the darkest of ryes(but the turkish is my personal favourite). Their pizza slices is on the doughiest of a roll and are so scrumptious, the perfect afternoon snack. If your more of a sweet tooth, grab a florentine or their lemon slice, so tangy and so delicious. Baked fresh, how could you go wrong?

This is a solid little bakery in the middle of the Carine Glades Shopping Centre and, while it may not be as glamorous as some of the rather more artisanal bakeries about the place, you’ve got to give it credit for its reliably, consistently good baked goods. Clearly a lot of locals do: every time you go shopping at Carine there’s a modest queue of people waiting to get their hands on a French stick or a sticky bun, a regular loaf of toastable bread or a pizza single for lunch. I prefer the crustier breads myself. If wanted something with a little more body to it, I have to admit that I’d probably find another bakery, one that specialised in sourdough or rye. But for crusty bread – the sort of bread you get so that you can dip it in a sauce or a soup – Fresh ‘N’ Crusty, for reasons made obvious in its own name, would probably be my first port of call. While there is very clearly a front counter, customers can also approach from the sides. The always very young-looking staff are very good at keeping an eye out for anyone who’s waiting on the flanks, but you may as well bite the bullet and head around the front to save them the trouble.
