So, as you can probably tell from my reviews and lists I have a bit of a thing for vintage, thrift and collectable stores. Also, as I love vintage gear, I know all the hotspots in Adelaide to check out! Cross Road Collectables is one of those stores you need to check out if you are after vintage home display items. Now, in all honesty, this store is jam-packed! There are quite a few different rooms and sheds packed with all sorts of things spreading through three housing complexes. Just to get an idea of it, check out the photos I have uploaded. You will find, crockery, cutlery, glassware, statues, ceramics, suitcases, jars, bottles, tools, kitchen tools, comics, records, radios, garden ordainments, etc… However, please note that this store is not a vintage clothing store. You will find bags and hats, but not clothing. Now, as for organisation of the stock, yes there is stuff everywhere but it is sectioned off into different items. You will just have to set aside a little time to look through it all. In particular what is impressive about this store is the collection of vintage bottles. You will find all different kinds of bottles in this store. Really rare and wonderful ones. I love to put flowers in bottles like these(instead of vases), and line them up on a window seal. It just gives your home that sort of country eclectic feel. As for the staff, they were so super helpful to me. They went out of their way to help me find an awesome brown vintage suitcase, doilies and bottles I needed for some decorations for an event. They even took the time to call their other store to see if they had items for me as well. As for pricing, I think they price items decently for Vintage gear. You need to remember that some items are collector’s editions and should be priced accordingly. But in saying that, you can find some great bargains here. They also have another store on South Road I have not checked out yet. Apparently they stock a lot of antique furniture there. Will have to check it out!

Rating des Ortes: 3 Adelaide, Australia
Honestly, I’m stuck as to what rating I should give this unusual collectables building. They certainly have a vast variety of anything you could possibly imagine from bottles to magazines, to vinyl records and furniture, but the place could use a massive tidy up. Organisation is something you will not find here; sure things are organised in to their respective categories but the place could really benefit from closing for a few days so the staff could tidy things up a bit. That’s another thing, you know something is not quite right when you can hear the staff bickering between each other about superficial objects whilst you search for collectables nearby. All in all though, if you’ve got a few hours free and feel like grabbing something that if you look long enough will be reasonably well priced, you’ll probably find it here. Worth dropping in to have a look, that’s for sure.
