I am a little late in posting this review but Mr Ed saved our night out last week. On the hunt for sweet something after dinner(and upon discovery of a closed dessert café across the road), we were about to give up when we stumbled on this place. I had a warmed up zucchini and chocolate muffin — don’t knock it til you’ve tried it! Dessert friends had another sort of tasty macadamia muffin and a cheesecake type slice. Combined with a tea(thank god the coffee machine was still on at 9pm!) and it was a perfect end to the evening. The staff were lovely too. Win.

Mr Ed gets a big tick from me for filling a major gap in the Flemo/Keno community. In a retail strip crowded with cafes, a plethora of «eat and run» venues from a range of cuisines, take-aways and pubs; Mr Ed has provided the locals with a place where we all can LINGER. On any given day you can see mums groups, couples, working lunches and social groups happily catching up in the roomy seating provided. This is a venue where you can go as a group of 4 or 6, and be confident that there will be a table to fit you all The service is always very welcoming and warm. The staff are efficient, but happy to chat when things are quiet. They are also fantastic with kids and know my precocious(but charming I promise) 3 year old by name. Thankfully, with enough seating for all, there is usually room to avoid the quieter couples and spread out colouring books until Mr 3s «off menu» toasted sandwiches arrive. The coffee is consistently of good standard, combined with a menu of breakfast and lunch items a cut above usual café fare. There is also a changing list of blackboard specials and range of sandwiches made to order. Mr Ed is now my go to choice when meeting people for lunch. I know there will be a table, good coffee and good food. If only the 3 year old would provide some good conversation…

My breakfast for today was slow braised pulled pork with potato and feta hash cake and a sunny duck egg. It was brilliant. If you like good breakfast variety this place has it! They make a mean Bloody Mary too, accompanied by a baby heirloom tomato. The décor is well thought out, modern but casual. Great coffee. Friendly service. I highly rate this latest edition to Flemington’s blossoming café scene. Definitely worth checking out the menu. Like your coffee strong? Espresso Martinis are available at breakfast too :-)

Very unique café that does actually serve alcohol! Not your ordinary café menu but has a great twist!

*Review incomplete This deli/café is not a bad spot if you want to avoid breakfast queues. Setting is casual with a deli-style dining. Staff were nice, but a little forgetful. Table salt is served in small communal dishes, which means the salt has been touch by many icky fingers, which is gross! Food was ok, but not awesome. Is probably better for take away deli food. Coffee was good.
