Ordered a beef tendon and beef phở in Phở Hung Vuong. I love the soup and the noodles in here but my gripe is that their beef tendon is not tender enough :(. I would also order medium next time as the amount of noodles are tiny, and $ 10 footscray price I would really expect just a little bit more noodles. Would give it 3.5 stars if there is half star rating!

A five-star rating! I visited this restaurant on a busy lunch time on Saturday and left satisfied. It was because a combination of three different things. Firstly, the attentiveness of the crews; although the place was packed, they managed to get me a seat within seconds I walked through the entrance. Secondly, a warm hearty soup of phở noodle with generous plating of sprout and various kinds of condiment to add to my liking, not mentioning the free hot tea to wash down all the goodness to my tummy. And finally, the price was very affordable. Enough said. Good management, delicious and cheap. A five-star rating. A must visit while you’re in Footscray.

This place is always buzzing, if you don’t like rubbing shoulders with strangers, then this isn’t the place for you. The food is quick, tasty and simple! I always go for either the broken rice with pork chop or the spicy beef and pork noodles. I would love for the spicy beef and pork noodles to be spicier, I think over time, it has gotten less and less spicier, perhaps they try and cater for those who can’t take as much spice. The spring rolls are tiny, but its enough just for me! For a simple meal, you can’t go wrong with the phở and they have many different versions of it.

Being spoilt for choice with the countless options for Phõ in Footscray, it can be overwhelming… but if you want the best, look no further! I’ve been here countless times, and will be back!

Just came back from living in California where I had plenty of phở, so I wasn’t really craving it but was having a catchup session with my nephew and it was convenient. So I ordered my usual, the sliced beef and chicken and omg it was on point. I forgot how good this place was and like others have said it’s never failed me and I’ve been going to his place as a kid. Service is always good and wasn’t that busy today at 3pm.

Best in the west when it comes to Phở. Have been to this place since I was young and has never been a let down. A real icon in Footscray!

Best in the west! Always jam packed, excellent phở regardless of beef or chicken. Plenty of decent options if there’s anyone in your pack wanting rice or rice vermicelli too. Staff are cheeky and efficient — let’s face it for around $ 10 a bowl it’s not trying to be fancy. Punters in, punters out. Given the line out the doors(front and back) — not the place to linger and chat as you’re denying your fellow a-phở-ciandos a spot to fill their empty bellies. 3 colour drink is ace — how about a takeaway so you can enjoy it on the way home? :)

It is as good as I remember it! The soup broth was strong in beef flavour! with the right amount of anise.

*Review incomplete Yummy phở, large dining setting, always packed, however staff could be a little bit more friendly!

Great for breakfast — opens earlier than other Phở places in Footscray and the sliced beef soup is particularly good. Naturally the food is very affordable, so come here for a great Vietnamese dish, and don’t forget the iced white coffee.

If you’re after a bowl of phở as good as Phở Mekong in the city, and going to the city is a mission for you, then come to this place! Good phở, they also have pickled onions there(if not already at the table just ask)!

Definitely my favourite Phở place in Footscray! Hung Vuong is ~always~ busy, but with food that can literally appear in seconds, the traffic moves pretty quickly and if you find yourself waiting for a table then you won’t be waiting too long! The small Phở will fill you right up, but they medium and large bowls too, all for ridiculously cheap prices! I’m actually a huge fan of the classic grilled chicken on rice though, so tasty and will only set you back $ 11. Same goes for the Vermicelli noodles– another great/fast/filling options that won’t break the bank. Look to be honest I don’t think you can put a foot wrong with the menu here, rice paper rolls are also fab! This has become my go-to footscray spot — It’s a fun place to take friends who haven’t ventured out west, and it’s a great regular spot to meet fellow locals. Definitely worth stopping by.

There are only three restaurants in the whole of Melbourne wherein you will find me when I crave for this refreshingly delicious rice noodle soup(aka Phở). Phở Hung Vuong is one of them! They make Phở to taste exactly how it tastes when my mum cooks it, which I guess is one of the many reasons why I really like eating here.(If you’re thinking why eat out when mum can make this stuff at home, it’s because of convenience — ie the broth itself takes overnight simmering & I ain’t waiting that long when I’m craving for it right now). On the menu, there’s quite a selection including spring rolls for entrée plus the full range of Phở. I always opt for the«Special»(aka Phở Dac Biet) which essentially has everything in it! By that, I mean it has a combination of any parts of the beef including thinly slices of rare steak, sliced Vietnamese style mini meat loaf, flank, brisket, stripe, tendon & meatball. But the real treat in Phở is not just the added meat; it’s actually in the broth which makes the perfect Phở. And the broth at Phở Hung Vuong is perfect everytime I eat here; the flavour is just right and not pungent which can be off putting. To it, I simply add plenty of Vietnamese herbs, bean sprouts, a squeeze of lemon and chilli. I am now ready devour the entire bowl! The service is often very efficient. Upon seated, your order is taken(assuming of course you know what you want from their extensive menu) and in under ten minutes your Phở is served. Regarding price, my usual medium special and a can of coke only cost twelve fiddy. There is nothing to really fault this place(knock wood).

When it comes to Phở in Footscray there’s some pretty tough competition. This place is my favourite for what seems to be almost medicinal Vietnamese broth — it’s delicious, cheap($ 10 a small bowl — which is as much as I can eat), and there’s no MSG glow afterwards. Beef, Chicken or entrails. choose your poison… it’s all good. Other than the Phở don’t forget to try something fun and adventurous in the drinks department, such as an Avocado smoothy or black bean drink. They also have the obligatory rice paper rolls, spring rolls and the odd dish of BBQ chicken on rice, etc. But really, this is a Phở restaurant, if you want something else venture a couple of doors down the road in either direction.

Great phở(really big servings, particularly a large), efficient service and clean. I had a large, plus a dozen spring rolls and a 3-colour-drink; I seriously couldn’t get out of my seat for 30 minutes, as I wallowed in gluttonous goodness. This place is pretty much always packed out during lunch and dinner times, but you never really have to wait for long. It’s a short drive out of the CBD and there’s heaps of free parking in the area, otherwise there’s a carpark out the back(this place has a rear entrance). Not much else needs to be said!

The phở comes out very quickly and is packed full of flavour. The café su da(Vietnamese iced coffee) is delicious, very strong and very Vietnamese. This is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne. The servers can be blunt, sharp and maybe a little rude at times, but it’s because this place is very busy. Don’t be surprised if you’re put at a table to eat with a party already there!

Oh, Footscray, you have some of the best Asian food around. Richmond really better watch out! Phở Hung Vuong has some great noodle bowls too(phở?)! For right around $ 10 this is a steal. You gotta hike it out to Footscray, but for real good flavors and delicious teas and shakes/smoothies, it’s worth it! Last time I tried the veggie rice paper rolls too. Sometimes phở just isn’t enough, and I found its new partner in crime!
