For someone with a sweet tooth places like Roll A Crêpe make me forget how painful fillings can be. (I regret nothing! CREPESAREWORTHCAVITIES!) It’s a shame this stand is in such an odd location (The fortitude valley train station doesn’t really inspire one to eat tasty crepes.) otherwise I’m sure they would have achieved the same gimmicky success as Harajuku Gyoza. Remnicist of Japanese eateries this place will make your mouth drop at the menu. (And the plastic samples mounted on the walls) Chocolate, green-tea or vanilla based crepes are smothered with your choice of savory or sweet toppings. With these crepes I definitely recommend the sweet fillings. Peaches, pineapples, custard, mango, kiwifruit, strawberries, blueberries, bananas and lashes of nutella, The mind boggles at the possibilities. With its central location, friendly staff and killer menu your stomach will cry tears of happiness at the sweet treats you bestowed on it… Holy Crêpe!

I discovered Roll a Crêpe the same way a lot of people have– whilst walking through the Valley train station. It is a shame this place is situated in a train station as it truly is a great place to enjoy a meal. I would have to disagree with fellow reviewer Asiya though, as I recommend the savoury crepes over the sweet ones(each to their own I guess). All the crepes at Roll a Crêpe are freshly made right in front of you and use fresh ingredients –this makes a huge difference in the flavour. I really like the ham, mushroom and cheese crêpe but there are some more adventurous flavours such as the hot dog crêpe or the chicken curry crêpe. At less than $ 10,these crepes are also very reasonable priced. I wish this restaurant was placed in a nicer location as I can’t say appreciate the ambiance of the Valley train station. Apart from that particular point, I really like eating at this place and would recommend it to anyone who likes crepes.

The other day I was watching Animé when I saw the characters eating these rolled up Crepes with flavours, fruit and ice-cream in them. Even rendered in 2D animation these things looked delicious. You can expect my surprise then, when I walked through the Brunswick Street Train Station only to find a shop that sells them! The first thing I noticed was the completely awesome menu. Instead of looking at words or pictures on paper the wall was covered in examples. Now these are like plastic representations of the crepes half rolled so you can see the flavours and fruit inside. They ranged from savoury crepes, to sweet and there was even the option to create your own filling. To go with your crêpe, they also serve coffee, tea, milkshakes and ice-cream. Oh how my mouth was watering. I decided to try a simple Red Bean and Custard Crêpe that was to die for. They also had green tea based crepes and more flavours than I could imagine. I feel like I will be back here to test a few more of these out in the near future.
