I’ve had a few mixed experiences at Centrelink in Fremantle, ranging from pain free 10 minute waits, to 20 minutes in line with various claimants who abuse staff and create a general feel of disease. Whereas my usual Centrelink office at Curtin University draws primarily students, Fremantle’s clientele consists of pensioners, students, foreigners, and the unemployed. Staff are generally empathetic and helpful, yet efficient and deliver satisfying service. Regardless of the people who frequent here and are generally off putting, I prefer this office to Curtin because the staff are just nicer.
