There’s lots of fun and interesting things at this collection of pop-up shops in the old Myer building in Fremantle. There’s a heavy focus on vintage amongst the pop-ups, with a lot of shops feeling like upmarket op-shops. Overall it has a very distinctive Fremantle vibe. Which means that some people are extremely welcoming, others seem a little intimidating and judgemental if you don’t go in there looking«Freo». It’s the perfect spot to pick out a present for a friend that’s a little different, but be warned that prices on some items seems a little pricey. There’s also a coffee shop inside, but hidden in the back of the building, it’s not that enticing when there’s so many lovely open coffee places about. One of my favourite instagram stalking accounts Anya Brock has a gallery at the moment, worth checking out for that alone.

This is the old Myer complex in Freo, which has been turned into a pop-up shopping area. I’ve been here for other events & love heading in to check out what new posters/clothes/nic-nacs are available here. There is a great little café at the back with lovely coffee & plenty of people watching!

An array of locally designed and made goods. Excellent place to get a nice present or to spot a unique buy. I love the vintage clothing stores and picked up a few eclectic pieces. One of my favourite stores is Clean Slate. I just adore the lavender room spray and the roll on perfumes. Definitely a great place to potter around in Freo.

This place is awesome. It is such a good idea! Not only have they utilized a long neglected space but they have given local businesses an affordable option to open their stores. I love a good wander around here, however I don’t normally do too much shopping(some of the prices are a bit steep). There is always something interesting to look at though & they have a café on site. I wish they would do the same thing with all the vacant shop fronts in northbridge & mount lawley.

Many is one of the best uses of space in the state. It gives local retailers a chance to sell their wares and is an awesome multipurpose hub. It’s great for shopping and has everything from local made clothes to art, raw goodies and vintage wares. Upstairs away from the shopping precinct is a production area which you can view from a viewing platform. Many also runs workshops and holds functions, and there’s talk of a rooftop bar happening in summer. Kate and Abel is a small shop tucked in the corner which also has an adjoining coffee shop. Kate and Matt are the friendliest people and are so helpful, they also sell their own line of custom hats which is so awesome aswell as quirky gifts, knitted cacti and magazines such as the ‘Smith Journal’ and ‘New philosopher’. The coffee from the café rocks. All in all MANY is such an awesome space that someone could spend browsing in for ages.

A brilliant reuse of an otherwise unexploited space. The array of shops in the centre sell hand crafted and unique products that pay tribute to great up and coming local designers. The staff I spoke to were friendly and more than willing to just have a chat. The little café, Kate and Abel, is a must if you need that caffeine kick with some good service!

It’s great to see old buildings repurposed for something as fun and creative as Many. What was once an old Myer department store is now home to a collection of artists and local businesses who reside inside, selling their wares and adding some character to this little pocket of Fremantle. There’s everything here to purchase from beautiful hats to leather handbags and hand crafted bathroom products and shoes. If you get busy from all that shopping, you can also stop and have a coffee or tea from the café inside.

Many 6160 is a blank canvas ready to be created, painted over, created again and changed on the atmosphere and whim of the store holders within. What was formerly a Myer store is now a champion of urban renewal, locally made wares and some kick ass typography quotes on the pillars around the ground floor. I was introduced to Many by the Unilocal Perth CM and my bank balance declines to comment. From the Skincare by Peaches & Clean, to Pigeonhole’s quirky wares and Kate & Abels sartorially savvy hats — there’s a feast of local purchases to be made. I’m told it’s changing all the time with new stallholders coming in as it grows. There’s still an Anya Brock painting calling my name…

Since Myer closed its doors, the ground floor of the department store is now dedicated to pop-up tenants and renamed ‘Myre’ — what a clever name! A great mix of fashion, home wares, art, food and more. There’s quite a bit of vintage clothing, with an emphasis on ‘Made in WA’ throughout most of the rest of the retailers. From Urban Locavore’s area(where you can grab a La Paletta ice pole), to locally made leather goods, hats and art. I could have bought a few presents for myself there, but managed to restrain myself and only get a gift for a friend’s upcoming birthday. The rooftop can be hired for events, and they have lots of public events on there too. I even hear there might be a community garden in the works. You should definitely stop by and check out the space when you’re next in Freo.

I know it is early days, but I am putting it out there: this place is MINT! And it is set to get a whole lot better. Myre is located in the old Myer department store, King’s Square Fremantle. When Myer closed its doors in January, the future of Fremantle’s once bustling shopping hub looked like it was going to go from bad to worse. Enter Spacemarket, the lease holders, who have shuffled in an array of wonderful local retailers & designers, along with a chocolatier, Urban Locavore, a hairdressing salon and a café onto the retail floor. Very soon an interactive ‘museum’ will be installed where you can view selected WA businesses’ products and through an app(stay tuned) buy the stuff you see online! Pretty cool. There is also space for artists in the basement, a production hub on first floor and the second floor is going to be a function centre of sorts. For summer there are plans afoot for a rooftop bar, perhaps an open air ‘drive-up’ cinema and a gym too. Pretty exciting. So I encourage you fellow Unilocalers to check out Myre and pop your own thoughts up in a review.
