My friends and I discovered this amazing place on Facebook. I also had another friend who kept posting her delish looking vegan and paleo breaky’s from this place. So, we just were busting to try it! We finally booked and went for a weekday lazy long lunch. So ok, it’s fab! The food is just perfection and a paleo lifestylers dream! It’s is also beautifully gluten free adaptable! So it’s a gluten free humans dream too! So we were in food heaven. We shared our meals(we are a bit cute like that) so we could have a taste of more things! Their fries are delightful and their paleo burger is perfectly prepared with a home made beautiful grain free bun that was hearty but not too dense(if you’ve had super nutty paleo bread before you will know what I mean about being to dense). Anyway we all loved it and thought the place was cozy and appropriately decked out with Eco friendly recycled wood tables and comfy chairs. Next time we plan to sit outside in the sunshine. It was still a bit too chilly a couple weeks back. All I can say is I’m in love with your soul ‘Soul Tree Café’ thanks for existing!!! We will be back! I’m determined to have a piece of that devine looking brownie cake with coco whip! xx

I’ve been walking the Railway Reserves Historic Trail for the last few days, just an hour or so each day. I noticed this café the other night on Google Maps when I was plotting my next walk, looked at the website and made my plan for breakfast the next morning! On my first visit here I was quite impressed. Quick, efficient and very friendly staff; comfortable, home-style furniture; spacious inside eating area with a small store against the rear wall with some choice organic goodies. Smallish outside area with seats for about ten. Nice atmosphere and very welcoming. I chose the Tofulicious(Organic scrambled tofu with mixed herbs, tamari and seasonal veg) which definitely was delicious as was the accompanying sourdough rye toast. Happily, they stock Parker’s drinks which I’ve started looking for as they’re Aussie and organic. All up, the only negative I found today was the actual location. Glen Forrest itself is a magnificent suburb but the café is at the back of a village shopping centre carpark so the view isn’t spectacular but everything else is well worth the visit and it is peaceful! I just hope one day they can move it to a site with a more pleasant view! Update! I’ve been back twice and tried a few more things. The Tower of Tempeh is magnificent and the Heaven on Earth smoothie(with rice milk) was delicious! Five well-earned stars. :)

I just can’t get enough of raw/vegan/organic eateries lately and Soul Tree are just another reason to get amongst the wholefood locomotion. Soul Tree do organic breakfast and an everyday vegetarian burger menu. The burgers come in a Sourdough bun but they’ll let you substitute that for a dehydrated gluten-free option which is what I did and it tasted great. In the counter that day they had a few salads, some large stuffed cabbage leaves, chickpea patties and some brown rice sushi. For sweets they always have homemade raw chocolate hearts, which is one of their specialties. The super lovely lady who owns the place, with pink doo-rag and velvet love-heart apron, had just finished making a layered cocao nut slice which I just had to try. It tasted amazing and is completely good for you. Even diabetics could eat it! The smoothies are delish too and of course stick to the same raw/vegan rule. Soul Tree is a great find. I’m only sad it’s so far from home
