At first you’ll walk in like I did and not quite know what to do with yourself. Do I sit at the big communal table or do I go up and ask for a coffee or a meal? Can I only browse the artwork? And then you’ll be welcomed by 2 of the friendliest gallery and café owners in the world — Steve & Kat(or one or the other depending on if someone is having a «sleep in» or «is on a ride» that day). You’ll then be made to feel like you’re at home. Steve will serve up a coffee blend for you that he «senses» will be just your type of blend. Being a rocket scientist(no joke) he is pretty good with bunsen burners so Steve will only serve you siphon coffee from beans that he has ground 10 seconds before to «keep the flavour fresh.» Kat has probably been baking some of her amazing berry or banana muffins or coffee biscuits or something else gluten free or lactose free or generally healthy that tastes like it can’t be good for you. You then are encouraged to hang around and chat to anyone as they join you at the big communal table that takes up half the shop. Or if you’re bored you can glance around at the diverse jewellery, artwork and furniture mainly made by Kat herself but now also submitted by «regulars» who have a side interest in art(wouldn’t that be nice?). Simple fare, simple coffee — great if you are a straight black coffee drinker — and a beautiful community atmosphere. Can’t wait to ride my bike in here one day(like many of the regulars do) and get a healthy boost of energy before I trek back home!
