Ember only opened the doors of their lovely soy candle emporium in December last year, however, the owners have been operating from various markets for years. The first thing that struck me was the beautiful scent and gorgeous colours and lusciously cool temperature that entertained my senses as I escaped the soaring heat. I soon met the friendly and helpful lady who owns this place. As I gazed around the small room in awe she taught me Candles 101. Mass produced candles are made from paraffin, a chemical that is not particularly good to burn and breathe in. Wow, did not know that. Soy candles are the natural alternative and much better for you. These natural soy candles are all hand poured out the back of the shop and incredibly reasonably priced. They’re no more expensive than any other candles I’ve ever come across. Fifteen to twenty five dollars will get you a stunning scented candle in a mosaic canister. I particularly enjoyed looking at the tea light candles set in miniature Japanese water feature ornaments. The ornaments are battery operated and produce a running waterfall. Just beautiful. And for sixteen to twenty dollars I will be back to make one all my own.
