Breakfast was great! We had lattes and ordered the vegetarian platter and eggs on toast. Everything was perfect from service to the food as well as the ambience. Will def be back

Been once, will go again out of curiosity. Apex is the new kid on the block in Gymea and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality fit out, professional hipster type baristas and quality campos coffee being pumped out. Unfortunately on this particular occasion we couldn’t eat in and get the full experience(I never generally like to judge a place based on take away so expect an updated review down the track!) anywho — the review must go on! Staff were friendly enough and took my order without issue. I had a double ristretto to have in and a picollo to take away(that confused them slightly lol) and a side of raisin toast for breaky. My wife had the smashed avo with bacon and a chai latte. The coffees came up pretty quickly and my ristretto was full off flavor and pretty well balanced. of approval. And picollo was also nice and had a lovely nutty flavor. HOWEVER the food did take awhile to come out and the gap between the drinks and food was pretty big(they’re a new place — so something to work on) but we’d pretty much finished our drinks by time food came and when it did, how was it? Passable without being exceptional. I must say I felt my raisin toast tasted slightly stale, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was that weird in between stage when it’s not yet toasty enough but beyond the fresh stage. Overall a good fit out. Friendly enough people. Good coffee. Food n service still a couple of things to tighten up.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. This morning we tried this new café on Gymea Bay Road. It’s been open for ten days and already has a cool vibe going on. The styling is right on trend with pendant lights and hanging plants. The only thing we didn’t like was the tables at the back of the café. They were too small for two people. When our coffee arrived we pulled another table across so we could fit our breakfast and coffee on the tables. We had quinoa & linseed sourdough toast with poached eggs and avocado. I couldn’t fault it. The food was great. The coffee is Campos and they have bonsoy! For us bonsoy drinkers this is a big deal ;) the barista made the perfect cup of coffee. We’ll be swinging past Gymea again for a take away next time I’m in the Shire. I encourage you to check it out and support this new local business! Solid four stars from me :)
