I wanted to rate this 3.5 stars if I could give half stars. I love Indian food and I’m from England where we are very big on curry and the standard is really high. Overall I though the food was very good although, it was nowhere near as spicy as I’m used to. I really recommend asking them to make it spicier(which I’m sure they’d be happy to do). I went with my family so I had a try of everyone’s meal and the chicken madras was great but just needs to be much spicier. There’s a great selection of breads and the 3 we tried were lovely. However, I was disappointed that they didn’t have peshwari naan bread because that’s my favourite, I even asked if it was possible to do but they couldn’t. The staff are very friendly but didn’t know anything at all about wine. They brought the wrong wine to my mum and weren’t able to describe the wines on the menu but they were more than happy to correct their mistake and bring a new wine so I thought that made up for it. The décor is really tired, old and dark and a few of the lightbulbs weren’t working so this is really something they could improve on. It wasn’t dirty or anything just could use a makeover. This place definitely has a lot of potential to earn 5 stars though. They just need to learn a little bit about the wine list, spice up the food and redecorate.

These guys could learn a thing or two from Mustard Seed just up the road. I came here with my partner last night after hearing from a friend that it was pretty good. I will say that the service was attentive, even if our waiter hadnt a clue about his wine list. Sigh. The food was incredibly bland, I was so dissappointed that I found myself here writing a review. By the way, I was slightly intoxicated, this should be a pretty good indicator of how bad it was.

If you’re looking to spice up your life in the Adelaide Hills this is the place for you. Much of the food is traditional of northern India. So there is a good range of chicken, lamb and goat dishes, along with vegetarian options. There are also a few fish dishes. SERVICE The waiting staff are warm, welcoming and courteous and the service was prompt. BHUNGAGHOST My bloke loved the Bhuna Ghost dish, which contained smoky-tasting tender lamb cooked in onion masala and tomato, ginger, cumin and fresh coriander. There wasn’t a ghost in sight, luckily for us. VEGETARIANHIGHLIGHT The northern Indian Baingan Bharta eggplant dish is pretty tasty and well spiced. It is apparently tossed in a tandoori oven, cooked in garlic and onion then simmered in a rich sauce. ACCOMPANIMENTS I like the fact you can order saffron rice here with freshly squeezed lemon juice. It’s really nice. The pappadams are quite nice at this restaurant and we got a bread basket of the wholemeal Indian roti, garlic naan and stuffed paratha — boiled spicy potatoes stuffed in plain flour and cooked in the tandoori oven. Needless to say we left this place full and went for a long walk through the Hills the next day.
