Seven very happy diners! From prawns to calamari to scallops to ribs to assorted cuts of steak, including a steak burger — everything was delicious. I don’t eat seafood but I was assured by those who did it was lovely. The African influence is evident in the spices and sauces used on most dishes. For those who prefer ‘à la natural’ that’s okay too — they serve sauces on the side or not at all. Only down side was trying to get more drinks. They were busy and on a very hot night(40deg) the bar should have expected high demand. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. $ 600 for 7 people(including a good tip) with entrees, mains and a drink each I thought was good value when the quality of food is so good.

Walking into this place was like WOW… this is a restaurant I will come to again. The ambience on entering and the staff when you walk through the door was not what I was expecting. They were very welcoming. The waitress was Laura who did her job perfectly. You don’t mind paying a little extra for meals when you walk out the door and not think that was a waste of money as with some high end restaraunts. We had a table of 5 and everyone ordered something different. From prawns to calamari to kangaroo to beef to ribs to pasta everydish could not be faulted. The dessert was amazing. My husband and I ordered the dessert finale which was all five desserts on the menu but smaller portions. OMG!!! I didn’t have to choose a single dish because what one do you order. Each one tasted so good. Overall the night was fantastic and I would recommend to anyone that enjoys good food and good wine to give this restaurant a go. PS.an amazing selection of wine. I’d say more variety than a hotel would stock.

Alright, so I’ve got some mixed feelings about this place. The food. I cannot sing higher praises about the food. I had the kangaroo and enjoyed every single little bite. It had a delicious sauce and amazing herbs/spices. The meat itself was cooked perfectly medium-rare. The presentation was great as it came on a few wedges with deep-fried onion crisps or something of the like on top. It was a decent sized meal that I was very happy with in every regard. I’d have it again for sure. The rest of the table had steaks that were equally as delicious as I was lucky enough to have a bite of one of the New-Yorkers. I was a little jealous but then again, they didn’t have my delicious kangaroo. The service. Did not appreciate this. Not at all. The staff were very friendly, don’t get me wrong but were, all in all, somewhat awkward. Our waiter could barely be heard as his words were barely more than a mumble. He managed to spill some red wine one of us without even realising and was, in the end, hardly there at all. We were never able to get service when we needed it, which was rather annoying. The price. Sure, it as a very fancy place to go for dinner but I was not a fan of $ 25 being the cheapest main meal and $ 45 or so being the average. I’m sure you could get a meal at another restaurant of similar quality and pay much less. My meal was cheapest on the table at $ 34 and I didn’t feel it was worth it, despite it being very, very delicious. So, I’m not completely sold on The Meat & Wine Co. It has excellent food for those of you with large wallets and the patience to put up with some of the staff.

FINALLYGOTHERE! I loved it, was so yum. Great atmosphere guys, an old church styled restaurant on the corner of the intersection. We sat out side on a cold night but it was heated and felt great. I had the steak… of course I did its the main food there and it was perfect. Not overly priced either! This fine establishment will not disappoint!
