I went to Hob Nob in search of my wedding dress. After hearing poor reviews and being told customer service is poor if you don’t have a big budget, I went in with a tainted opinion of the establishment and their staff. I could not have been more wrong. The staff were excellent, knowledgeable, accommodating and they seemed liked they really cared, they weren’t always pushing the most expensive wedding dresses and they were firm but not pushy. I went back to Hob nob 4 times before I ordered my wedding dress and I found the service each time was outstanding. The rang at Hob nob is excellent and I could not recommend them highly enough.

Bridal review 161… at least it feels that way. I did the token visit to Hobnob last week. I knew after going there for a friend’s appointment they probably wouldn’t have what I was after, but my mum thought we should check just in case. The shop itself is nice enough. The lady who helped us out was really very lovely and was very honest. We tried on a few dresses, and most of the styles are the very popular designs of the moment — lots of of lace, and a few with textured skirts and trains. They stock bridal accessories too, so I may pop back for earrings or a veil sometime.

Hobnob — more like Snobnob, I did not enjoy this place at all. We made an appointment on a Saturday and the place was busy. They were running half an hour late which was pretty annoying because there were a few change rooms that were free. We picked out 4 dresses on our own and when we did get served the young girl was very friendly. After trying on the 4 dresses that we picked out we requested that she pick us out a mix of different dresses to see some different styles on our friend. She went off to pick some more and another store assistant came back with a couple of dresses and explained that the previous assistant had to have her lunch break. Which is perfectly fine but it would have been nice to know this before as she disappeared and my friend was given a couple of the same type of dresses she had already tried on. We requested again that we wanted to see a mix of different ones and were told that there isn’t enough time for her to try on anymore. Which was pretty annoying considering we waited for ages to be served for our appointment before AND requested a mix of different dresses. They are also total phone nazi’s and tell you off like you are 5 years old if you are texting people. Their reliance on ‘copyright law’ is a bit iffy as well — they can dictate behaviour within their premises but there is no specific ‘copyright law’ regarding taking photos of your friend during that day within a store. I wouldn’t come back again because the whole experience put a damper on the day.

Price Range — $$ — $$$(not including alterations) Sale rack of discontinued items on right side with 40%+ mark-downs. Hobnob was the first bridal store I went and I must say it has set the bar high. It is by far the bigger, if not biggest bridal stores in the area. I have heard some nightmare stories from Perth brides-to-be, trying on dresses that ended in tears due to poor customer service. Therefore, I haven’t been quick to do this. I’ve actually put it off as long as possible and even exercising so I wouldn’t be called ’”fat”(like a friend of mine! Not the bridal story one wants to have!). And, other review sites lend to poor reviews on Hobnob. My best guess is it all has to do with who waits on you. I had Jackie. SWOON. . I booked an appointment for Saturday afternoon. Do your best to try and visit through the week, as Saturday for bridal shopping is bonkers on speed. You won’t be able to be seen on a Saturday without an appointment. Book a few weeks in advance if you want your time. I tried on about 6 or 7-dresses which is the most I’ve ever been allowed to try on anywhere. And, truth be told, they had the most selection that I’ve wanted to try on. While prices had me gasping for air after browsing at more stores, I realize this store is actually far-better priced based on what you get with it. I did find the dresses(or the style of dresses I gravitated to) to be heavy. And, it breaks my heart that international brides can’t Skype with their Mamas, or worse sending a picture to them. This policy seems to be across the board every shop in town.

Beautiful gowns, worst customer service in WA. Couldn’t believe how bad i was treated, especially after 4 fittings for the same $ 4000 gown. Was just informed that they were too busy to let me pick it up. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

I came here not as a bride but was still astounded by the lengths the staff go to to help out. This was the first shop we went to on what was expected to be a long arduous gown shopping era. How often is it that a bride find a dress in the first shop? Not oftne I’d say unless that shop is Hobnob. The assistant(Lyn) was so helpful, combining what the bride had in mind and also what she thought would suit her shape. She was upfront from the start about prices and tried to stick within budget. I was very impressed and although I don’t intend on getting married anytime soon if I haveto I will come here.

I’ve never been a bride myself so I wouldn’t know the craziness of planning a wedding but being a maid-of-honour was pretty hard work. I have to stand there and look pretty and pretend to help. It’s bloody taxing. I went to shop for dresses with the bride. The selection at hobnob was really elegant and really well priced but there was nothing that really pinged. They were the simple dresses with the same cuts and the same embroidery. We needed something more spectacular and fantastic. So we moved on, but not say the service wasn’t absolutely fantastic and the dresses weren’t absolutely lovely. It’s in the centre of highgate, right at the city end of Beaufort street which is right at the height of sophistication.
