Fish and chips are good, although a little overpriced. Location is amazing, and once you work out you’re supposed to get a table and note its number before ordering, the service becomes very fast no matter how busy the place is.

The wrap was delish! The price is fairly up there but it’s a nice spot that is quick. Great customer service :)

Overpriced and inflexible with selections. Two battered flake for $ 15 was possibly the worst flake I have ever had… my local fish and chip shop in Ashburton does better for $ 6.50. Won’t come again.

A waterfront fried food emporium where you order at the counter, tell them your table number and the food is delivered to you. The prices are high but you are paying more for the location than quality ingredients and cooking. One of us had the Fish Frenzy which was fried fish, scallops, calamari and chips. All were good except the fish which was not particularly tasty. The other had the Blue Eye Trevalla tempuraed with chips and it was much better.

A fine example of mediocre seafood in a good setting. Tossed-up giving this a two star review, but changed to a one star for a couple of reasons that will become apparent. First off, the food is nothing special. Everything seems to be bulked up with excessive chips to make the meal seem bigger. The meals themselves are unimaginative. Nothing specifically wrong with them, just mediocre and boring. Which is a surprise given the relatively high prices for the food. Service, however, is the thing that made me knock the star rating down. Simply put, it is on the level of a badly managed McDonalds. Here’s a few points: «No, I don’t know which table number I am at. We haven’t picked one yet. Didn’t know we needed to before ordering. No, we won’t go back to find a table, then come back and stand to wait in the order line yet again.» «No, the people at the table next to us don’t have to clear up after themselves, and we won’t either. At the prices you charge I expect you to clean up the table after we leave. And perhaps you should consider not badmouthing customers after they leave.» Really, there are a lot more pleasant places for seafood around the docks that are better priced, have better food, and don’t consider customers to be impediments to their business.

Fish and chips! No surprises at Fish Frenzy. The fish and chips are delicious but better can be had at a better price. FF offers cool beverages and seating outside and in. Beware of the outside seating and fellow patrons that cannot read signs. Feed the seagulls and beware!

Decent fish, pretty good chips, upper end prices in a casual setting. What you’re really paying for here is a great location overlooking the wharf. They have a variety of seafood on the menu which can be prepared a variety of ways. I settled on fish(with calamari and scallops) and chips, with a Cascade. This set me back over $ 30. It was good, but not great. Not complaining but I immediately thought of the $ 8 takeaway fish and chips I had in Sydney. Still this was not a bad place to spend and afternoon for lunch.

Expensive Fish and chips in a fancy wharf setting. It’s a nice location but the basic fish and chips is way too expensive for the quality. However it looks like some of the better seafood on the menu looks great. Worth a look for good quality seafood, but for basic fish and chips, try one of the other 3 – 4 options in the area.

It’s expected that you will indulge in lots of seafood when in Hobart and Fish Frenzy isn’t a bad place to do it if you’re after something casual. There’s views of the water, tall ships and expensive catamarans. The outdoor tables are pleasant on a warm day and it wouldn’t be complete without some seagulls eyeing off your chips with their beady little eyes… When it comes to the actual food… well expect to pay a bit for what is essentially run of the mill fish and chips. $ 30 for grilled fish and average over-dressed salad seems a bit rich to me. Bruny Island oysters(6 for $ 14) are good but being pre-shucked earlier in the day means you miss out on all those great juices. The chips come wrapped in a paper cone and are big and chunky. Good, but nothing special. What IS special is the views here and the ability to dine so close to the water. So, choose a great day and I’m sure you’ll love this experience.
