It’s depressing to note that a three-​star nail place does the best shellac in Brisbane, but it’s true. There’s nothing particularly homey (or clean) about this salon, and the nail techs are constantly hopping from client to client, often treating two at once, so there’s little room to relax or feel pampered. The place is crowded, and every time I’m there the same Nicki Minaj DVD is on repeat like a particularly sadistic Groundhog Day, yet somehow these guys do the best CND shellac in town. They know how to take it off properly, too, which is a huge bonus, and don’t try and drill your nails with the gel/​acrylics drill either. The mani-​pedis I’ve had here are tidy and last the right amount of time. If you get a chip, they fix within a week for free. $ 5 off if you pay cash.
