Swiss Time

I love watches, I love how they look, I love have they measure, I love almost everything about them.. . except how much they cost.
This is one of the most exclusive watch shops i have ever entered– not that it welcomed my intrusion, however in the circumstances I was completely within my rights to enter the store. I was with a friend who has a swanky «pilots’ watch» and simply needed the battery changed. His watch warrants us looking at other similarly swanky watches in my mind.
The shop assistant, who clearly isn’t used to having so much action, didn’t even stir from his throne. (throne is an exaggeration– it is a wooden arm chair with red lining) he looked up and I think, while I absorbed as much as I could from the display cabinets, my friend tried to make things easy for the shop assistant/​owner? and explained what he needed. «Oh, we don’t change batteries– keep heading down, there will be a watch shop further down that can help you.» HA! What pretentiousness.
We happily left and I thought to myself, they may have shiny watches, but their service is a little too rusty for me.

I have a feeling that this is one of those places where if you have to ask what the price is, you can’t afford it.
This is a high end shop which sells some of the best Swiss watches. List of their brands is on their website and supposedly selection comes from best Swiss independent watchmakers. Now, how true that is I cannot ascertain because I don’t have the expertise, but if I’m to judge by prices those watches were made by Jesus himself. This place know what it sells and makes no apologies. And I like that.
If you are looking to blow some money on ridiculously exclusive overpriced item and you are a man (or buying for a man), you can’t do better than this.
